Really wanted to love this place but it just didn’t live up to the expectation. Our server was great but this has more to do with the food and drinks. Starting with the drinks, it was a hit or miss. Some were great others were very bland and TINY. For the price I expected very uniquely crafted cocktails. Same with the food. We ordered the salmon plate which looked NOTHING like the photos, it was tiny, like the smallest piece of fish I’ve ever seen served at a restaurant. It came with a purée which was very salty and a tiny amount of bok choy, had to order a side of mashed potatoes because it was not nearly enough to even fill up a child. another plate was the lobster tallarín (spaghetti) which I thought was good but the plating was not great. My partner thought I was meh for the price. The empanadas were pretty good. Lastly, we ordered the chocotorta (chocolate cake) and while it looked nice, it was extremely dry, too sweet and very cold like it had been refrigerated for a long time, Definitely not worth almost 20$! Overall we just expected a more elevated experience since you can pay these prices at much nicer restaurants. It’s also right next to the hotel pool with a bar facing poolside which made it feel a lot more casual. Not sure if I’d return or recommend.

Que Bárbaro completely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the energy of the place, the hospitality, and the aroma coming from the kitchen already told us we were in for something special. Let’s start with the empanadas… absolutely incredible. Perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, and packed with unbelievably flavorful meat on the inside. Juicy, rich, and cooked to perfection. You can immediately tell they care about quality and authenticity here. Every bite was next level. Honestly, everything we tried was amazing and full of flavor. But what truly elevated the experience was the service. A huge shoutout to Juan for helping set everything up and making sure our visit was smooth and enjoyable from the start. And a special thank you to the manager, Sherryl, who was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. That kind of attention and hospitality makes all the difference. Great food, great people, and an amazing atmosphere. Places like this are rare, where the food and the service are both unforgettable. If you love empanadas and incredible meat dishes, Que Bárbaro is an absolute must-visit. Easily one of the most memorable meals we’ve had. Highly, highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spent close to $200 CAD here and left completely disappointed. We were seated right next to a club area where the door kept opening, letting cold air in throughout the entire meal. When I asked to be moved, one of the staff members gave me attitude over what should have been a simple request. I’m spending hundreds of dollars, the least you can do is accommodate a reasonable seat change without making it an issue. The biggest letdown was the salmon. Nearly $50 USD for a single slice. Not a fillet, not a generous portion. One slice. For that price I expect something that justifies the cost, and this absolutely did not. You could buy better at any grocery store for a fraction of the price. The overall service matched the experience. Nobody seemed particularly interested in making sure we had a good time. The only exception was the receptionist at the front, who was genuinely warm and welcoming. She stood out because everyone else, kitchen included, seemed indifferent. For what they charge, the food, service, and atmosphere should be far better than what we got. I won’t be returning.

Very nice design, but very loud and hard to carry on a conversation. Food was good but a tad expensive. We had fun but the sound level was reason for not trying any more of Level 8. We love the concept.

Sad I waited so long to come here! Visited on a weeknight and were seated promptly, the decor is lovely and inviting. Our server Kyle was extremely attentive and good at his job. We did the Dine LA préfixe menu which had great options and portions. The short rib polenta was very heavy, but SO good. My only real critiques are about the cocktails are the plating. The cocktails are made by the batch, which at this price point is a shame. My partner didn't enjoy his drink, but I enjoyed my off-menu kiwi drink. The food is truly delicious, but I felt the presentation didn't measure up, the salmon had a delicious black sauce hidden underneath that wasn't discovered until later and my polenta was so good but didn't look appetizing, with more thought out plating and drinks, this place could really shine. Would return for the food and vibes though! 4.2/5.
