Cleburne Cafeteria, often referred to as a classic cafeteria-style restaurant, offers a nostalgic dining experience reminiscent of traditional American cafeterias. It features a nice, spacious lobby with a history timeline and paintings by one of its longtime owners. Known for its generous portions and professional staff, it aims to provide a comforting, home-style meal in a clean and well-maintained environment. The building itself is described as gorgeous and new, often decorated festively.
Customer perception is mixed but generally positive for the overall experience. Many praise the delicious food, excellent service, and the nostalgic 'back in time' ambiance. The staff is often described as professional and helpful, and the restrooms are noted for being very clean. However, some customers find the food to be bland, cold, or lacking in flavor, particularly for certain dishes like Prime Rib. There are also frequent comments about the pricing being high for a cafeteria-style restaurant, with individual sides adding up quickly.
Additional Details
The restaurant is located in a visually appealing, new building that is often decorated for holidays, such as Christmas. Portions are notably large, often leading customers to take food home. While the prompt refers to 'Dilek Bagci's cafeteria-style restaurant', the reviews and address strongly indicate the establishment is known as 'Cleburne Cafeteria'.
No specific peak times or ideal days are mentioned in the reviews, but it appears to be a popular spot for lunch and dinner.

Classic cafeteria style, food is lack luster. Ordered the Sunday special which is Prime Rib. It is not prime meat, no option to order how its cooked which is understandable since it a cafeteria. The meat has no marble, and even though is medium its dry. Mash potatoe is bland even with gravy. Brussel sprout is very sweet almost dessert like. In total I paid 47.47 for the entry and 2 sides. It is more expensive than most steak house but the flavor is not on par. This is ly first time but it kinda dissapointing. Maybe I’ll try other more traditional fare another time.
Overall: expensive and not very tasty.😞
On today’s review lunch menu- Cleburne Cafeteria. I was in need of a mid-day meal and since I was in the area I stopped by. The building itself was gorgeous, new, and the Christmas tree is stunning! (very festive) I wish I felt that giddy about their food. The line ran quickly and everyone behind the counter had a “rush” mentality. I was appalled by their $4.95 for ONE devil egg!!! The portions are of generous size but the taste is extremely bland and mediocre. I was not impressed with spending (almost 40$) for “at best” a $15 meal. My time at the table was met with zero waitstaff as well. I will not recommend a try but I’ll leave that to you. Happy Eating 🍽️
Homely and hearty food.
Service and atmosphere:
The service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and super helpful. The staff was offering to carry food to the table.
The restaurant is big, clean and well organised.
Food and drinks:
The food was very tasty and delicious. They offer home made style dishes with great variety of meats, vegetables, salads and desserts.
I had turkey. The meat was very succulent and well cooked. I would recommend salad with cheek peas and feta cheese.
You can opt for alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
Pricing:
$$ - super worth it!
12/2/2025: I like cafeterias. I was raised on them with my grandparents, so they hold a special memory for my taste buds. Cleburne definitely has great service and large portions, but I wasn't crazy about the food. My fish, casserole, mushrooms, and tea were $25.89! Yes, the portions are large, but they were so large I could not finish them and I had plans after, so I could not take my leftovers. I wouldn't have anyway because they would heat well. So, for my money side, I was not impressed. The fish is not even close to being as good as Luby's, the casserole was made with fresh green beans, so it was a little firm, and the mushroom were a little lacking in flavor. They don't have a lot of options like other cafeterias. It was very basic on the sides options. They have okra, but it is not fried okra. I wasn't impressed, so I am giving them 3 stars.
The best cafeteria in Texas! The country fried steak with potatoes is delicious. Love their cole slaw. Rolls, muffins, and cornbread are freshly baked and never disappoint. Their desserts are legendary. The best peach cobbler, apple pie, and cherry pie in town. They mildly season their food. I assume they are keeping the older customers happy. It is a bit pricey but huge portions.
