  • If you sign in with Apple (iOS), we receive a unique identifier and, at your option, your name and email address from Apple.
  • Reviews, ratings, comments, photos, lists, and other content you create or upload.
  • Information you submit via our contact form or reviewer request form.
• Non-personal information
  • Automatically collected data, including IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and usage data.
  • On mobile, app version, device model, and push notification token (if you enable notifications).

2. How we use your information

• Provide and improve Hungru and its features.

• Send push notifications, if you have granted permission on your device.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-party service providers

We share data with the following trusted providers solely to operate our Service. Each provider has its own privacy policy.

Some providers are based outside Israel and the EU. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to analyze usage, remember preferences, and improve your experience. Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar) are only loaded after you provide consent. You can manage preferences via our cookie banner or browser settings.

6. Location data

We may temporarily process your IP address to estimate your general geographic area to present relevant content. We do not store your IP address after location is derived, and we do not use it to identify you personally. On mobile, if you grant location permission, we may use your device's GPS to show nearby restaurants; this data is used in-session only and is not stored.

Push notifications

If you grant permission on your mobile device or browser, we may send you push notifications about activity relevant to your account. You can withdraw permission at any time in your device or browser settings.

AI-enriched content

Some content on Hungru — including restaurant descriptions, dish details, and chef profiles — may be generated or enriched using artificial intelligence. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and may be imperfect or out of date. We aim to clearly distinguish AI-assisted content where feasible.

Analytics

We may use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Hotjar to understand how people use the Service, measure feature usage, and improve performance. Analytics scripts are only loaded after you provide consent where required.

7. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this policy or comply with legal obligations.

8. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion of your Hungru account and all associated personal data at any time from within the app. When you submit a deletion request, your account and data are permanently deleted automatically — no manual review step is required.

Deletion removes: your profile, saved items, lists, device tokens, notifications, and uploaded media files. Public reviews are anonymized (author name replaced with "Deleted User") rather than removed, to preserve the integrity of restaurant information.

How to request deletion:

• Signed in: open your profile → menu (⋯) → Request account deletion.
• Not signed in: sign in first, or email us from the address linked to your account.

If you contact us by email, we aim to process verified requests within 30 days. Some data may be retained where required by law (for example, fraud prevention or tax records).

9. Children's privacy

Hungru is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no security system is foolproof.

11. Your rights

12. Third-party links

Hungru may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

13. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
