Really wanted to love this place but it just didn’t live up to the expectation. Our server was great but this has more to do with the food and drinks. Starting with the drinks, it was a hit or miss. Some were great others were very bland and TINY. For the price I expected very uniquely crafted cocktails. Same with the food. We ordered the salmon plate which looked NOTHING like the photos, it was tiny, like the smallest piece of fish I’ve ever seen served at a restaurant. It came with a purée which was very salty and a tiny amount of bok choy, had to order a side of mashed potatoes because it was not nearly enough to even fill up a child. another plate was the lobster tallarín (spaghetti) which I thought was good but the plating was not great. My partner thought I was meh for the price. The empanadas were pretty good. Lastly, we ordered the chocotorta (chocolate cake) and while it looked nice, it was extremely dry, too sweet and very cold like it had been refrigerated for a long time, Definitely not worth almost 20$! Overall we just expected a more elevated experience since you can pay these prices at much nicer restaurants. It’s also right next to the hotel pool with a bar facing poolside which made it feel a lot more casual. Not sure if I’d return or recommend.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Que Barbaro and it was a 10/10 experience. From the staff to the food.
The host immediately made us feel welcome and seated us at great table. Our server Iga was great! She guided us through the menu and made some great food and cocktail recommendations! We opt’ed for El Asado! Which featured grilled meats and sides that were incredible. I couldn't recommend it more.
Throughout our meal, Walter, the manager, checked in on us and made us feel so welcome and taken care of.
The vibes at Que Barbaro are perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The combination of attentive service, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere made for a truly memorable evening.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Los Angeles, make sure to visit Que Barbaro. It’s definitely an experience you wanna try!
Que Bárbaro completely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the energy of the place, the hospitality, and the aroma coming from the kitchen already told us we were in for something special.
Let’s start with the empanadas… absolutely incredible. Perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, and packed with unbelievably flavorful meat on the inside. Juicy, rich, and cooked to perfection. You can immediately tell they care about quality and authenticity here. Every bite was next level. Honestly, everything we tried was amazing and full of flavor.
But what truly elevated the experience was the service. A huge shoutout to Juan for helping set everything up and making sure our visit was smooth and enjoyable from the start. And a special thank you to the manager, Sherryl, who was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. That kind of attention and hospitality makes all the difference.
Great food, great people, and an amazing atmosphere. Places like this are rare, where the food and the service are both unforgettable.
If you love empanadas and incredible meat dishes, Que Bárbaro is an absolute must-visit. Easily one of the most memorable meals we’ve had. Highly, highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We came to Que Bárbaro looking for a good steak dinner and ended up having an amazing experience. The food was excellent, the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and everything we ordered was full of flavor. We got ceviche , empanadas and something for a spicy lovers : lomo saltado. We had a great server - Iga. She gave us great recommendations and service. The atmosphere was lively and fun without feeling overwhelming, making it a great spot for either a casual dinner or a special night out. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be back next time we’re in DTLA. Highly recommend!
I rarely complain about restaurants, but this experience genuinely felt overpriced for what we received.
Between dinner and drinks, we spent close to $400 expecting an upscale experience. The food didn’t help justify the cost either. The Lobster Tallarin sounded impressive on the menu, but the portion was surprisingly small for the price and nothing about it stood out flavor wise. A lot of the dishes looked designed more for presentation than actual value.
What disappointed me most was the overall hospitality. Aside from the hostess, who was genuinely kind and welcoming, the service throughout the night felt cold and disconnected. No one really checked in, and the energy from the staff made the restaurant feel more interested in appearances than customer experience.
For a place positioning itself as a premium dining spot, I expected much better attention to detail, stronger service, and food that actually matched the pricing. Unfortunately, this felt more like paying for the hype than the experience.
