My wife and I rented an apartment adjacent to Mahana Yehuda Market for our recent trip to Jerusalem, so we spent a lot of time here. I got to experience the market in a way I never have before, and it was amazing!
This is by far the best place in Jerusalem to taste authentic street food. The market is full of hidden gems: humble, small market stalls that make some of the best food I have ever tasted. I would specifically recommend Nuna, a stall in a small alleyway that makes absolutely mouth-watering mofletas, or the getting a kanafe from one of the various stalls that make them.
The sights, smells, and sounds all mixing together is something I have never experienced anywhere else. A truly unique experience.
This is definetely one of the best tourist and culinary experiences in all of Jerusalem. The historical market is very diverse, filled with restaurants and shops where you can find anything you like, from souvenirs, to traditional plates. It has a unique athmosphere and I absolutely recommend visiting it!

Never, ever a dull day here! One of the most wonderful places to visit, eat, drink, smell, hear and enjoy in Jerusalem. Not the least expensive place, but worth every single penny spent.

Wonderful cultural experience to try new foods and buy local fresh produce. Prices and qualiry vary from merchant to merchant. I made a mistake and bought strawberries at the merchant closest to the entrance. I should have walked further and would have found more for less. My suggestion walk around before purchasing it as they are multiple merchants selling the same items for different prices

I love a good market, and this one definitely worth a visit. Note that it gets super packed on Fridays, so mid-week is recommended. It’s not quite the cheap paradise it used to be, but the food and the atmosphere still make it a good place to buy groceries or grab something to eat.
