Delicious Chinese BBQ in a great location in the city
I have tried this place twice before and the overall taste is very good.
Recently, I tried the char siu rice and the char siu was tender, had a good amount of fat to it and some pieces had that nice smokey bbq taste to it.
Portion is pretty decent with a lot of rice that has some of the meat drippings poured over it.
I do wish that the rice was hotter since it was luke-warmish.
I see some reviews complaining about the service but since I am Cantonese, this type of "impolite" service is pretty normal from Canto restaurants/servers. The food came out relatively quickly.
I really enjoyed eating at Golden Century. The place specialises in Hong Kong style BBQ meats. I decided to order the BBQ duck with rice. It was a very big serve with lots of duck. The duck was fresh, meaty and juicy. It was very tasty! It was one of the better Hong Kong BBQ places I have been to. The serve was very big and could even have been shared between two people. I though it was too good to share though. I would recommend eating here and look forward to ordering from here again.
The Golden Century legend continues! The original restaurant may be gone but its DNA continues with its BBQ outlet at the Exchange Building in Darling Square. The char siu plate with dry egg noodles cost $20. For the price you get a very generous serving of char siu, noodles, veg and a broth. Surprised by the size of the serving and the quality of the char siu. The pork was nicely marbled with the classic sweetness of the marinate. Long live Golden Century!
Seriously their roast duck and meats are very good!!!
Yes Australian pricing but the quality and taste is worth it.
I love to do my takeaway. The roast duck rice is value for money for the taste and quality. However at times I just love the comfort food and will go for the mixed roast duck and pork rice with a good hot and sour soup!!!
Heaven.
