Key information

The Blue Rooster, also known as 'התרנגול הכחול', is a prestigious restaurant located in the G Mall in North Tel Aviv, offering a warm, rustic, and unpretentious atmosphere within an urban tower environment. It is known for its varied and creative menu curated by Chef Shaul Ben Aderet, and has been described as a brand that has existed for decades. The interior features a country-style design, and it's situated in a small mall with luxury stores and a parking lot.

Customer perception

Customer feedback highlights the food as generally delicious, creative, and special, with some dishes like the fried eggplant appetizer receiving praise. Business lunches are noted for generous portions. The ambiance is often described as pleasant, warm, rustic, and country-style. Service is perceived as professional and kind by some, with a friendly and generous bartender mentioned. However, some reviews point to significant issues: slow service in receiving menus, distracting noise from staff clearing tables, poor timing of dish delivery (main course arriving too quickly), and a critical concern regarding the handling of dietary restrictions, with one customer reporting staff forgetting or mismanaging gluten and dairy requests. Some found the rustic salad too salty or a burger bun soggy, and evening dining experiences were sometimes marred by staff preparing to close.

Additional details

Chef Shaul Ben Aderet, the culinary force behind The Blue Rooster, is also associated with Kimmel Catering, Kimmel Bagilboa restaurant, culinary advisory services, and chef workshops. The restaurant is considered a long-standing establishment that has evolved into a recognized brand in Tel Aviv's culinary scene.

Nice country style interior, very solid and intelligent human contingent. We were 3 people and had business lunch this time. Every meal: starters, main course and dessert were very delicious and very special. The surprising think was that although business lunch, meals were quit big. The service very professional and kind, we get an extra dessert “on the house”

The food was pretty good and creative. The fried eggplant appetizer was surprisingly sweet, but pretty tasty. My husband was a little disappointed that his burger was deconstructed and the bottom bun was soggy because of the sauce. The rustic salad was very tasty, but a little too salty for my taste. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was extremely friendly and generous. He recommended some relatively tastey dishes and gave us an appetizer on the house. He was a very very nice guy, but kept forgetting my dietary restrictions and assured me what was on my plate was safe for me to eat--though I am certain I ate both gluten and dairy (not goat cheese).

Second time dining at the Blue Rooster as an anniversary dinner and, unfortunately, was a bit disappointed this time. While the food was great, like the time before, the scenery was surprisingly unexpected. We made a reservation at around 9 pm and when we arrived, there were only 3 other tables dining. However, it took quite some time to receive the menus as the waiter didn't really notice that we sat down. That's fine, but the noise that the waitres and the bartender made when they were clearing all the tables and their section was quite appalling and distracting, to say the least. I mean, I understand you would like to close the restaurant but can you do it quieter or don't take reservations before you close... have a little respect for the customers. Also, please plan your timing better with sending out meals. Just because you cook the main meal quickly, doesn't mean I'd like to have it 2 minutes after you bring out the appetizer and have to squeeze everything onto the tiny tables and let everything just go cold.

A prestigious restaurant that has existed for decades and became a brand. Designed and tasty dishes, but too small, appropriately for a restaurant of this level. Pleasant atmosphere. located in a small mall with luxury stores and a parking lot

Excellent food and service. I love their risotto and polenta. Their lunch menu is also reasonably priced. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. There are so many great options. For the desserts, the chocolate mousse is not very sweet and the Malabi is excellent!
