Had a lovely father’s day meal at Mountain. We were in a booth downstairs. Great vibes and service despite it being extremely busy for all the Father’s Day meals! Food was amazing. Favourite dish for me was the walnut bread with loquat and lardo but it was all very good. We will definitely be back soon!
Mountain Beach Street – London (One Michelin Star)
Mostly brilliant, with a few stumbles
Cockles – unusually small and slippery, dressed in vinegar, olive oil, and herbs that comes in harmony.
Culatta di montagna with grilled peaches and almond – a fine combination.
Wild mushrooms – not fragrant enough, not hot enough.
Spider crab omelette – a near‑disaster: crab unevenly seasoned.
Langoustine – grilled well, has tomalley and umami , but small.
John Dory – fresh and tasty with olive oil lemon sauce, though the skin is too salty.
Beef short ribs – tender, juicy, perfect medium rare, meaty and high quality.
Strawberry and mint sorbet – no mint flavour but still refreshing and delicious.
Torrija and mascarpone – French toast with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Grilled peaches with almond ice cream – the ice cream carries a malted Vitasoy note, paired with mille-feuille bread.
Great for celebrating birthdays and anniversary!
Good for sharing and chatting!
Go-to dish: cockles and langoustine

We had and excellent dinner at Mountain. The food was very good. The starters were exceptional. We had the Oysters, cured Monkfish and Pollock, the artichokes and the Cured Dairy Beef.
For mains we had the crab omelette (a must have), the mutton chops and beef short ribs with a few sides.
We also took our own wine, and at £30 corkage it was well worth it.
We didn’t have dessert as it was late, we sat down at 830, but they looked great.

We visited Mountain for the first time last month after wanted to go for months.
It didn’t start well after a prompt and lovely welcome from the front of house host, we were left sitting without anyone coming up to us for over 20 mins. It wasn’t as they were busy yet or short staff.
Finally once someone came over, took our cocktail order which took ages to arrive, we finally got our waitress come over and explain the menu and take our order. By this time 30 mins had lapsed, and given you have a 2 hr slot, we were a little disappointed at the prospect of having to rush our meal.
Now for the positive, the food, which is half the experience. We ordered several small plates, and every dish was better than the one before. Some of our fav included, the mushrooms, grill squid with that char was simply outstanding, the crispy rice paella and the short ribs.
Despite the outstanding food, the service really let it down and when you are dining at a Michelin restaurant the two must go hand in hand. They must focus on the guest experience with staff that is putting the customer first rather than chatting among themselves.

What an absolute gem! We were just walking by when the exterior caught our eye, and we decided to stop in for lunch—best decision ever.
Mountain serves incredibly unique and thoughtful dishes. Our server helped us navigate the menu (especially portion sizes), which we truly appreciated because some plates are wonderfully generous. Everything we ordered was outstanding: sardines, cured beef, short ribs, baked rice, and wild mushrooms—every bite was fresh, bold, and bursting with flavor. And you must order the bread and butter… it’s downright heavenly.
Our server was fantastic—warm, friendly, and delightfully chatty—and she made an already great experience even better.
When I come back to London, this will be the very first place I return to. Can’t recommend it enough!
