I had such a great experience at Marea Beverly Hills! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pastas and seafood — every dish we tried was amazing. The oysters were fresh and flavorful, and the desserts looked spectacular. Portions of food are not the biggest but in general - beautiful presentation, great quality, and a wonderful Italian dining experience overall. The only negative part about it was the valet, pretty long waiting time. Anyway, definitely a place I would come back to!
We loved this place! We went closer to when they first opened and the food was pretty fantastic. Drinks were strong and delicious. The service definitely set them apart, though. At first we waited kind of a while to have someone come over, and they did leave us alone during courses (so only ordered two rounds of drinks for a 3-4 course meal), but the servers and people working there themselves were really kind, attentive, and knowledgeable.
There were a lot of gluten free options and the seafood was remarkably fresh, with portions fairly large. Will definitely go back once we make our way through the other places on our list!
We did make a reservation and would recommend doing so, especially at peak times. The restaurant is relatively large, though.
We had a really nice dinner here and highly recommend. Staff was attentive and did a really good job at explaining the dishes. The pastas were our favorite as well as one of their new desserts. They also have some World Cup specials right now! Can’t wait to go back one day!!
Marea was once one of those reservations people chased. Visiting on a Saturday and finding it half empty felt less surprising than revealing.
The room is undeniably beautiful — polished, expensive, carefully composed — but it now feels like a restaurant more invested in projecting relevance than actually possessing it. What was once difficult to access now seems easy to overlook.
There is still style here, but very little electricity. The overall impression is of a place sustained by aesthetics and pricing long after the momentum has faded. Beautiful to look at, but no longer convincing.
One of my favorite restaurants from New York has landed in LA. James Beard Award Winning, Michelin-recognized excellence in the heart of Beverly Hills. I love their take on coastal Italian -- the branzino tartare is an addictive dish and the octopus fusilli never fails. There is a reason that's a signature! The Marea Martini is one of my favorite drinks in the city. I love dining in the bar room and they also have some of the best private spaces in the area. I've been multiple times now and it only continues to get better + better each time.
