I saw this place on Facebook and wanted to try it. Finally tried it and I have to say it's been awhile since I have had good flavorful food like this !! I had the quesabirria tacos and it was very great in flavor and spices. I also had an abodaba vampiro and this i have to say was AMAZING 👏 the sauces that they put on it and the pineapple slices is really an amazing combinations of flavor that on my first bite I just stopped cause it felt heavenly good. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu. If you like authentic Mexican food this is a definite must try.
This little gem is some legit street style Mexican Food. The birria is amazing and tender. The carne asada is grilling right there and has that amazing “grilled” flavor. The beans come served in the birria juice with options of cheese and carne asada. The tortillas both flour and corn are rolled out and made to order. The horchata is homemade and bottled. Some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m born and raised here and I’ve had lots of Mexican food here and across the border and this is by far some of the best I’ve ever eaten. My photo doesn’t do justice for the food.
Tijuanero is a great little corner taco spot in San Diego that really delivers on authentic flavor. The homemade tacos were delicious and clearly made with care. Each one came out fresh, with warm tortillas and well-seasoned fillings that tasted simple but really well done. One of the most unique things on the menu was the cactus, which had a smoky flavor that was surprisingly delicious and added something different from the typical taco options. It’s not something you see everywhere, and it was definitely worth trying.
The meats were flavorful and cooked well, and the toppings tasted fresh without overpowering the taco itself. It had that casual street taco feel where the focus is just on good food rather than anything fancy. You order, grab your food, and enjoy really solid tacos.
Price-wise, it felt pretty reasonable for San Diego. Tacos were about $4 each and burritos were around $14, which seemed fair considering the quality and portion sizes. It’s the kind of place you can stop by for a quick bite or grab a few tacos and still feel satisfied.
Overall, Tijuanero is a solid taco spot with authentic flavors and a relaxed vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby and craving a good taco.
we are in town for the week. the place i had saved to go to had to close early for the day. we had been by this location a couple times on a tour bus and I remembered seeing something about it on Instagram, so we came here.
i got a chorizo vampiro and ordered an adobada burrito but got carne asada. not even a little mad about it. everything was so delicious, including the salsa. huge fan!!
Everything I tried was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable. Luis treated me like I was an old friend rather than a patron who was only there for a few days for work. There is no place like it! The value alone is reason to go, the you taste the food and you feel like you’re in a 5 star restaurant. If you’re in town for a short time, don’t ware time trying other places.
