We tried Ammi Indian Restaurant during our visit to Little Island, and I must say they provide really great service. The staff were warm, friendly, and very welcoming. Watching them prepare fresh dosas right in front of us was such a fun experience. It was also wonderful to see people from different cultures enjoying dosas as if they were their own comfort food.
After exploring Little Island, we were quite hungry, so we ordered a Mysore masala dosa, paneer momos, and a mango lassi. The mango lassi was so delicious and refreshing that we ended up ordering a second one! The paneer momos were generously stuffed and tasted excellent.
The dosa was crispy and flavorful, but the sambar was a bit disappointing. It was quite watery and lacked the richness, vegetables, and lentil consistency I usually expect from a good sambar.
Overall, we had a good experience. The portion sizes are generous for the price, the location is convenient, and it’s a great spot to satisfy your hunger while exploring the area. I’d definitely recommend it for a quick, tasty Indian meal, especially if you’re craving dosas and a refreshing mango lassi.
Recently ate the Pav Bhaji and Masala dosas and they were both AMAZING. Better than I remember. Made to order in front of you. Cannot wait to eat them again. A little spicy, but totally worth it!
It is in a food court so don’t expect a typical restaurant experience.
Delicious dosa! It comes out fresh, hot and crispy. I got the Mysore masala dosa and a chai. I loved both. The sambar and chutneys it came with were great as well. It’s in pier 57 which has tons of seating both inside or out. I’d love to try their momos next time as well, but I felt the dosas really hit my craving
I got the chicken momos which were prepared probably hours ago.. they were hot hut really bad to taste.. the chutney with it was equally bad and tasted like raw chicken marinade.. don’t get anything here!!
