A beautiful stop, but mixed results - 3/5
A natural pause after hours of walking through Prague’s Old Town. Cerna Madona catches your eye immediately - the dessert display case alone is a work of art, rows of immaculately crafted pastries that look almost too good to eat.
The coffee and tea were good, and the pumpkin soup was a genuine highlight - warm, flavorful, and exactly what you need mid-exploration.
The desserts are visually spectacular, but the execution doesn’t always match the presentation. The Pavlova was a disappointment - no cream, dry, and frankly quite boring for something that looked so promising. The red velvet spiral cake (pictured) was stunning to look at, and the fresh fruit cream cake was charming - but the Pavlova needs serious rethinking.
Service is efficient and the place is clean and well-run. It’s clearly geared toward tourists, which keeps things smooth but takes away some of the local character.
