Key Information
Three Michelin stars, innovative tasting menus, playful and creative approach. 'Living Table' experience.
Customer Perception
Highly creative and beautifully presented dishes are consistently praised. Extensive tasting menus are a highlight for many, though some find them overwhelming. High-quality ingredients and service are generally noted, but a few describe the experience as rushed or feeling like an 'assembly line'. Reservations are notoriously difficult to secure. Some feel the emphasis on cleverness occasionally overshadows classic execution.
Additional Details
Located in the Eixample district of Barcelona. Offers multiple tasting menus. The experience generally lasts around 3-4 hours. The 'Living Table' experience is a unique highlight.
We had a 12.30 lunch booking.
We arrived 3’ early but were a bit surprised to see people waiting outside -> it feels like the restaurant could have welcomed people in to sit even if they are not formally open yet (Barcelona can be quite hot).
Overall the food is impressive and culinarily advanced. However, there were few dishes that were genuinely delightful. Advanced techniques ≠ delicious. Eg, there was a gelatine penne/carbonara dish, which while impressive (the penne is transparent) wasn’t finger-licking good.
The wine pairing was nice but quite heavy. The food was good but portioned too largely, we took a break but still felt ready to burst with 5/~28 dishes remaining.
There were no towels at the bathroom. Only tissue (which sticks to your hands). The staff were very attentive but didn’t look excited.
One of the 3 chefs introduced himself which was a nice touch.
Overall a good experience but not an impressive one - at that price point expectations are high.
Prepare for my podcast review 🤣
I celebrated my 30th birthday at Disfrutar, and honestly, it was on a different planet.
The vibe hits you as soon as you walk in. The design is very Cadaqués/costa brava, with those beautiful ceramics and textures that feel high-end but still somehow cozy and welcoming. It’s elegant without being stiff, which is exactly what I wanted.
The food is a total trip. It’s a genuine culinary journey where they play with textures and artistic presentations that I’ve never seen anywhere else. Every course is complex and thoughtful, and the wine pairings were a highlight, they are really not afraid to serve things that genuinely surprise you.
Just a heads up: give yourself plenty of time. We were there for almost 5 hours, but it never felt long. It’s a full-on experience, and you honestly need those 5 hours if you want to enjoy every second.
The service was exceptional from start to finish. They make you feel looked after without being overbearing. It was a experience and the best gift I could have given myself for the big 30.
If you want a meal you’ll still be talking about years from now, this is it!
Such an excellent experience.
There was very little room for improvement.
From the moment we were let in, all staff were very friendly and extremely aware.
We ordered the tasting menu and the wine pairing. The food was delicious, with a few exceptional dishes in between. It really was a journey of flavours.
The wine fit all the dishes so well.
The atmosphere was very pleasant. All other guests were very well behaved and everyone was enjoying themselves.
A special mention to Jennifer, David, Talia and Jan the sommelier. They really made our night and we couldn’t have wished for better service.
We’re looking forward to returning!
Disfrutar - A Masterclass in Playful Fine Dining
If you're in Barcelona and want a meal that's not just food but an experience, Disfrutar absolutely delivers. This is one of those rare restaurants where creativity, technique, and storytelling all collide --and somehow every bite still tastes incredible.
Disfrutar is known for avant-garde cuisine, but unlike some experimental places, every dish has soul. Expect surprises, whimsy, and a lot of "wow" moments. Highlights included:
* The famous panchino -- an airy brioche with caviar that disappears in your mouth.
* The multi-spherical olive, a mind-bending reinvention of a classic.
* The cooked ceviche, which flips the idea of ceviche completely on its head.
* And of course, the "Disfrutar box" and the playful ending chocolates that make you feel like a kid again.
Every course feels like a magic trick you actually get to eat.
My favorite part is The Living Table at Disfrutar! THE most memorable parts of the meal. The table literally becomes part of the experience -- drawers open, hidden compartments appear, and the chefs build dishes right in front of you. It feels like a playful culinary performance where the table turns into a stage. It's interactive, surprising, and beautifully executed, perfectly capturing Disfrutar's mix of creativity and incredible flavor.
We recently spent 18 days in Spain, and during our trip, we had the opportunity to dine at Disfrutar and DiverXO. Both were amazing!!! I was initially worried that since we dined at DiverXO before Distfrutar, that we might be disappointed with Disfrutar (DiverXO set the bar really high). Well... we were not disappointed. The food, and service were excellent. We dined with friends in Barcelona that we hadn't seen in 13 years, so it worked to our advantage that we were not seated in the main dining room. It allowed for a more private dining experience. But others might prefer to be seated in the main dining room. After the meal, all four of us said that we couldn't believe the meal took 3 hours and 45 minutes! Time just flew by because we were having such a good time, both with the food, and with the company. We highly recommend! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
