The service was impeccable from start to finish. We had spent the afternoon at the spa beforehand and had booked dinner afterwards, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. Even getting seated felt effortless, and the team were warm, welcoming and professional throughout the evening.
What really stood out was the atmosphere amongst the staff themselves. We could see that two new team members were being onboarded, and it was genuinely refreshing to see how friendly, supportive and encouraging the existing staff were towards them. It created a great atmosphere and showed the culture that has clearly been built within the restaurant.
To start, we shared the sourdough bread, which was incredible. The flavour was fantastic, and the whipped butter was a lovely touch. We also had the lentil and garlic soup, which was packed with flavour and worked perfectly with a piece of the sourdough for dipping.
For the main course, we chose the beef shin pie, and it was honestly one of the best pies I have had anywhere in the UK. This is a proper pie, and whilst it takes around 30 to 40 minutes to arrive, it is absolutely worth the wait. Knowing the pastry is prepared fresh to order makes all the difference. The beef shin was beautifully cooked, falling apart with every bite, and it was accompanied by excellent vegetables and cavolo nero.
We also ordered the lardo fries, which were delicious, although if I’m being honest, the pie itself is so substantial that we may have slightly overdone it on the starters!
Overall, this was a genuine 5 out of 5 dining experience. We left feeling happy, completely satisfied and very impressed. The quality of the food, the exceptional service and the welcoming atmosphere make this fantastic value for money. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend Emberwood to anyone visiting Bath.
From the moment we walked in, we felt really good about being there. The place smells clean, the space is airy, the lighting is perfect, and the décor and interior design are simply beautiful. On top of that, the staff were incredibly warm and helpful, which made us feel like we had absolutely made the right choice coming here.
Everything we ate was a real pleasure — every single dish was incredibly delicious. The cocktail we had was a recommendation, and we ended up absolutely loving it.
We genuinely enjoyed every minute of the evening. Big thanks to the whole team for such a wonderful experience. ✨
My and my girlfriend throughly enjoyed our anniversary here. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a lovely receptionist, who took care of us straight away. Wishing us a happy anniversary and the card in the table were the perfect little touches. Due to the occasion we were given complimentary Fizz.
The ambiance in the restaurant was ideal for a classy quiet meal. The food was gorgeous and presented to perfection.
Overall we had an amazing time and would certainly recommend it for a special occasion.
We celebrated our engagement here and had the most amazing experience. The atmosphere was lovely, warm and cozy and staff were exceptional. Our waiter Adam couldn’t have been more attentive and made our evening truly special, with great wine knowledge too. We enjoyed the dressed crab which was so fresh and tasty, the tomato salad which was just delightful and then shared the cote de boeuf. All delicious. What a great place and we will remember this evening for the rest of our lives. Thank you all at Emberwood!
Visiting emberwood reminded me service in a restaurant should be, attentive and engaged but not pushy or over the top, we went for drinks on the terrace and returned for dinner, nothing was too much trouble, ordering drinks not on the menu not a issue, food is fantastic, atmosphere is fantastic, although I imagine on a very busy night it would be very noisy as it’s a open plan space, loved the decor, loved the drinks trolly and deserts trolly, can’t really fault it. Mains are priced fairly high but worth it for the quality and service. A service charge is added. Will return
