I tried this place because it was literally right downstairs from the hotel I'm staying in. Had no idea what type of food they served until I got the menu. My girlfriend and I shared a regular size pizza (The Founders) and it was absolutely fantastic! The regular is 6 slices and the large is 10. I wish we had gotten the large but 6 was enough for both of us. The waiter recommended the MVP and I plan on trying that next time I go here. My girlfriend had the 1911 beer. She normally hates beer but she said it was the best beer she ever had. The music they played in the restaurant was nice as well. The restaurant has a real intimate vibe but there's a bar so there's also a more casual feel to it also. There are also little dinosaurs around the restaurant which is pretty interesting. The waiter said this was a result of the founders who didn't have money to decorate so they used toys from around the house and a lot of that has stayed. If you want some great pizza I would recommend this place! I don't have a picture of The Founder because I was quite hungry and the phone did NOT eat first. But I did take a picture of the MVP. We added some meat and it was equally as delicious. Didn't have room for dessert though 😭. I preferred the Founder because it has a sweeter taste but you won't go wrong with either!
Very nice place. They have really tasty pizza and good selection of drinks. The thick Detroit style pizza is delicious. Had a nice relaxed vibe. We really enjoyed our lunch. Will be back next time in Philly.
I always enjoy getting food from this place. But for the first time I got takeout I realized it’s not the same. I got a shaved Brussels sprout salad to be shared for $17 and there was enough Brussels sprouts to be shared, but there were very few Cranberries, pickled onions or blue cheese crumbles. Definitely a growing trend where food to go doesn’t come at the same standard as dining in when it comes to serving sizes.
The pizza is always amazing! Even when delivered, but the past two times I’ve ordered a Caesar salad delivery. It’s literally come with just salad and a side of breadcrumbs no cheese no dressing on the side no dressing at all such a waste of money.
Emmy Squared has great pizza, chicken sandwiches, salads and cocktails. The pizza is not like any other in the area. It is Detroit style. Thicccccc + Square. I normally get takeout but this was my first time eating in. We sat in the front cocktail bar area. Our service was great. On a Saturday night we didnt need a reservation (that may not be the case when the weather is nicer and people are out and about). The pizza is great -> quick plug for the spicy chicken sandwich. It. Is. Spicy. Sometimes you need a forehead sweat when eating. It is good, but it is hot. Also the salads I have gotten have all been good, they are definitely a side for me, I wouldn't get it as my meal.
