We landed in Biarritz really late and by the time we made it to restaurants it was really late, 10:30 pm. Needless today, my nearly all the restaurants were closed but we found this place with their kitchen still open. We were welcomed and seated in a quiet area despite it being very busy and we appreciate that greatly as we had our baby with us. We ordered two smash burgers which were really welcome and tasty, accompanied by some good fries.
If you're out late looking for food, this is a solid option. They had a varied menu and very affordable. The restaurant across the street in comparison was also open but a solid 25% more expensive.
Nice place with a good atmosphere. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. The confit de boef was delicious woth a large chunk of very tender beef, but unfortunately the cordon bleu wasn't really up to expectations. When it arrived at the table, half the parmesan breaded crust on the top was missing and the one on the bottom was a bit soggy. The chicken was only luke warm, quite dry and the whole dish was lacking flavour. So 5 stars for the beef, but only 2 - 2.5 for the cordon bleu
Very nice atmosphere on a busy corner, friendly waiter, ideal for a break when wandering in the city. Very cheap compared to other places and extremely tasty food. We ordered padron peppers and special fries. I recommend this place. You can trust all the reviews about this place.
I couldn't rate 0 stars unfortunately. We are tourists from London. We were refused entry by staff at the demand of the manager, without any reason initially given. This was inexplicable, a total surprise. Eventually a barman found us outside and repeated the manager wanted us out; as we were so confused, we felt compelled to ask if the refusal was because we are a gay couple. At that point we were told the manager had said one of us was acting drunk (neither of us had had anything to drink at that point), and the barman further denied they would ever refuse a gay couple. Given we were not drunk, problematic, aggressive, rude, or different from other customers in any other way, it is difficult to be persuaded.
This ruined our trip to Biarritz.
