Many highlight the delicious Sunday set menu, generous portions, and excellent wine selection. Specific dishes like the Jerusalem pitta, mix grill, and various small plates receive positive mentions. Quite a good experience across the board. The space is decorated simply but there it at least some minimal spacing between the tables. The staff were nice. The menu was quite simple without any outstanding options yet everything was tasty: the flatbread with small plates, Jerusalem mix grill, pork chop were all good. Maybe I would recommend accompanying the pork chop with some potatoes as the side. The portion sizes were reasonable. I can definitely recommend this place as nice a small plates option
Had such a delightful experience at Oren, warm atmosphere and cozy. Had the absolute pleasure of Ines, so attentive and convivial, well acquired knowledge of the menu and explaining the dishes, fabulous service! The Sunday set menu was delicious a great mix of dishes and fairly priced. The Panchetta and Tart were a real stand out! Recommend highly.
Oren is a truly lovely place. Came there to celebrate our anniversary…. warm, welcoming, and calm, with a quiet atmosphere.
It’s a perfect example of how a restaurant can gain popularity and even Michelin recognition while still staying grounded. The prices remain very reasonable, portions are generous (mix starter on the picture, highly recommended), and the quality of the food is consistently high. Everything feels thoughtfully balanced: price, taste, quality, and the space itself. A rare kind of restaurant that proves great food doesn’t have to come with pretension or inflated prices.
This is my favorite restaurant in Hackney. I've been here many times, and it never disappoints. It's a great spot whether I'm celebrating a birthday with friends or having a meal with my partner. The food is always amazing, with creative dishes that really stand out. The Jerusalem pitta is a definite must-have! In the summer, don't miss the fantastic gazpacho and the cherry salad. Their mezze and bread are always a good choice, and the wine selection is excellent. The the ambience is so cozy and always impecable. The staff are lovely and very accommodating, don't miss it!
Quite an underwhelming experience (probably our expectations were too high?). Price/quality ratio is way off here. Venue is tiny, cramped and super noisy, you need to shout to talk to the person in front of you.
Food was average at best, really cannot understand how this place got on the M guide. We had the grey mullet ceviche, cornish cuttlefish, hake arayes, flatbread, the chards with broad beans and the burnt leeks and none of them was particularly tasty. The pear tart for dessert was tasty but the smoked fiordilatte gelato was not smoked at all, just a plain fiordilatte…We left the venue thinking maybe we were unlucky with our dishes but we definitely won’t come back.
With one cocktail each the damage was £70 per head, felt it’s quite steep as the whole dinner was just bland/unremarkable.
