Ordered a bowl of tomato soup cost £4.50! When it arrived, it was barely covering the bottom of bowl, about 1 inch of soup in bottom of bowl, asked staff if this was full portion, she said it was, when I tasted it, was stone cold, no butter served with dry sour dough toast, the picture on the ordering console shows a very different full bowl of steaming hot soup, with toast and butter, very disappointed won't be returning!
The quality of the food has declined significantly since my last visit. When I returned my meal because it arrived cold, the red-haired woman who manages the café responded rudely and raised her voice at me, as though I were to blame for the food not meeting basic standards.
The customer service and policies in their cafe lack common sense. I cannot tolerate caffeine for medical reasons and therefor always carry my own caffeine free tea bags . I was refused a cup of hot water and some milk by the manager of the cafe because she says their policy states they don’t allow customers to drink their own drinks in the cafe due to allergens. Tesco you should review your policy in this instance or provide caffeine free drinks. Decaffeinated doesn’t mean caffeine free!
Chelsea who is the manager, refused to speak to us after a way under par breakfast and left Finlay to deal with us. Finlay was exceptional and clearly distressed about the lack of support from his manager. The eggs were overcooked and the rest of the food was cold. We couldn't eat anything and had to wait nearly an hour for a refund. This is the 2nd time that we have received poor food and we will not be returning. My partner works in hospitality as a chef and he would never treat customers or his staff in this manner. Hats off to Finlay and Chelsea needs speaking to as she clearly lacks the skills to be a manager let alone a chef.
I have come here a handful of times since it opened but after my last visit I won’t be returning. The service from Anca (or something similar to that) was genuinely awful. She brought our drinks over and just dumped the tray on the table and walked off. She didn’t say anything at all, didn’t even look up. Just walked over dumped the whole tray down then walked off leaving a dirty tray on our table. The food was really mid, the standards have clearly dropped. A bit of seasoning would go a very long way. It was all cold as well but with Anca walking round with a face of a slapped arse, didn’t make us feel like we could approach her to raise this. Genuinely shocking! Won’t be returning as long as Anca is there.
