Wonderful Izakaya
Gaijin Izakaya
So, in line with the wave of rising Japanese izakayas in Tel Aviv, we arrived at גאיג׳ין on לילינבלום.
We sat in the covered outdoor area, but when I went inside, I felt it was a shame. The place is beautiful, not too noisy, designed so that just sitting inside could be a very special experience.
The prices aren't cheap and the portions are relatively small, but the flavors, the textures, the creativity, and the uniqueness are worth it.
The dishes:
Tiger Tempura Shrimp rested on Tobanjan Ponzu butter and green onion. The butter was superb, a wonderful wave of flavors swept over us, I couldn't stop. A wonderful dish, 86 NIS
🫚 Denver Cut pickled mushrooms Yakiniku caramelized onion - An excellent dish, a unique small salad with mushrooms, pears, and onion. Special, special. 114 NIS
🫚Tsukune Barvaz, Aioli Yuzu, Halmon - duck kebab that sat on soft bread with an egg yolk on the side. An excellent dish 76 ILS.
סשימי סלמון, three pieces, fresh and healthy 56 NIS
🫚 Tuna sashimi Bluefin or Toro - fatty, tender, melts in the mouth, three pieces. Excellent. 72 NIS
🫚 ניגירי טונה בלופין צ׳ו טורו כבד אווז, soft, fatty, finished too quickly. 66 שח
A wonderful experience (I recommend sitting inside the restaurant, preferably at the bar), prices of a luxury restaurant more than an Izakaya at the end of the day in Japan, small dishes that will only make you want more, the bill comes out accordingly.
470 ILS not including service and alcohol.
