Delicious steamed buns with beef filling, noted for being soft and flavorful, a must-try.
Bánh bao is a Vietnamese bun, originating from Chinese buns like the Cantonese tai pao or da bao, which were introduced to Vietnam by Chinese immigrants. It is a ball-shaped bun filled with savory ingredients such as pork or chicken meat, onions, eggs, mushrooms, and vegetables. Common fillings include seasoned ground pork and quail egg, often with Chinese sausage and a hard-boiled egg, while vegetarian versions with mushrooms, tofu, and glass noodles also exist. This popular street food is typically eaten as breakfast or a snack.
