88 Bao Bao, located in Vallejo's Gateway Plaza across from Costco and next to Ulta, is a casual Chinese restaurant specializing in dumplings, bao buns, and other classic dishes. It's known for its quick service, generous portion sizes, and a clean dining environment, making it a popular spot for both dine-in and takeout.
Customer feedback is generally positive, highlighting the delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, and quick service. Many appreciate the large portion sizes, making meals last for multiple sittings. Specific favorites include bao buns, cucumber salad, sauteed green beans, and wontons in chili sauce. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies, with one customer finding the shrimp egg fried rice bland and missing an extra egg.
The restaurant offers a variety of menu items beyond dumplings and bao, including pan-fried items, appetizers, noodles, fried rice, and soups. They also offer party trays and frozen dumplings for customers to prepare at home.
The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Given its casual nature and focus on quick service, it's suitable for lunch or dinner any day of the week.
