The view is breathtaking! It feels like the Taal Volcano is directly staring at you. It’s better to come here at 4-6 pm so you can witness the bright sun streak.
Food is okay nothing super special about it. Its a great idea to combine Japanese and Italian with Arabian food choices.
Price is a bit high for its products but considering the view . Its all worth it.
Staff are accommodating but not super attentive could use a little bit of more orientation or a morning huddle to just remind them of their daily roles.
All in all its a good place to try food with a breathtaking view of Tagaytay’s own Taal Volcano.
We celebrated my in-laws’ birthday here and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the place itself is stunning and very aesthetic. Highly recommended for couples celebrating an anniversary or even a monthsary—the ambiance is super romantic with a beautiful view of mount Taal.
The food was amazing, especially the fettuccine! I’m usually not a fan of pasta, but this one totally changed my mind. We also tried their pizza with burrata and it was sooo good.
The only small downside is the limited parking since there’s a Starbucks in the same building, which is understandable. Good thing there’s paid parking just across the road.
Overall, we had an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back!
Great Views, Room for Improvement: Bon Appetit at Hotel 8
If you are looking for a place to sit back and enjoy the famous Tagaytay breeze, Bon Appetit offers a good view that makes for a nice backdrop while you unwind. We stopped by specifically for desserts and drinks, and the setting definitely lived up to the relaxing "out-of-town" vibe.
The Breakdown:
• Sweet Treats & Sips: The selection of desserts and drinks was a pleasant way to spend the afternoon. It’s a nice spot if you're looking for a light snack with a scenic vista.
• The Ambience: The view is the standout feature here, providing that classic naturey feel that Tagaytay is known for.
• Service Note: Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the service. We found that the staff were not friendly, which took away from the overall welcoming atmosphere you’d expect at a hotel restaurant.
The Verdict: Come for the view and the sweets, but don't expect the warmest hospitality. It’s a decent stop for a quick photo and a drink, but the service definitely has room to improve!
Dear Ana. I have been around the world. You are the most amazing human that I have been served by. Never have I had someone so attentive. Thank you for taking care of my hot water and the hot water in my tea.
The food is incredible. This has to be the best restaurant in the Philippines ~ a Singaporean.
The view was indeed breathtaking as others have said, great view of Taal Volcano. Lighting was good, though it was somewhat humid and hot inside the restaurant. Limited tables and chairs, so best to reserve in advance especially on weekends.
Food choices were limited, but they partner with the restaurant across (Judo), so you can order Japanese food too.
Personal favorite was the borough mushroom truffle risotto – 10/10
Second personal favorite was the salmon raclette – 10/10 — perfect cheesiness and creaminess.
Their roast organic chicken was also great – 10/10
My mom and sisters loved the freshwater shrimp and crab pasta’s creaminess – 9/10
My dad loved his steak and eggs – 8/10
Their red snapper en papillote and scallops with herb sabayon has a distinct taste – 4/10 — the scallop was rubbery, so we didn’t like it.
Their crackling pork belly was just okay, but can be better – 6/10
Everyone loved the ebi tempura – 9/10
As well as the salmon aburi – 8/10
In terms of the serving size, they can be more generous, I don’t know.
Parking space was limited, but there were people who assisted. Staff were not difficult to approach.
We found the menu pricey, but I guess you pay for the view as well. Overall experience was great.
