We had a pleasant stay at Botanic Sanctuary last weekend. The hotel is beautiful and decoration is tasteful and original (in particular in the lobby area). Rooms are nice, spacious and silent, we had a "deluxe room". Bed and shower are excellent. Light controls are inconvenient (many buttons to try and get it right - no simple "mood" buttons for low/middle/max lighting) and there are no lights in the wardrobes. Bottled water is unbranded, no minibar drinks are complimentary (except coffee/tea - the Botanic tea is great), additional 'touches' are minimal (i.e. just chocolates, no additional details as you would see in similarly priced hotels abroad - a half bottle sparkling wine upon arrival would have been appropriate for a three night stay at a LHW). Room service offering is good but comes at an additional service charge which I would expect to be priced into the food items already (€42 for vol-au-vent, €25 for three small cheeses and savoury biscuits were missing, olive oil empty etc.). Breakfast is excellent, especially with the mix buffet / à la carte. The wellness and gym facilities (including changing rooms) are beautiful, well kept and not too crowded, even on a Saturday. Would have been nice to have nuts/tea at the wellness area. Staff is friendly and generally professional but the doorman was overwhelmed at times (e.g. difficulty locating an umbrella, and when we picked up our luggage after our stay, we were simply rushed to select our own bags from a wardrobe - no checks/security whatsoever); concierge knew little about the ongoing 'fashion festival' (e.g. was not aware of shuttle service at the hotel) and I don't think they recognised us even after the third night - e.g. "is this your first time at the spa?" on the third visit in three days. Overall, we had a good experience and would consider this hotel again if we return to Antwerp.
Right in the center of the city of Antwerp, you'll find this completely restyled and most beautiful place. We had the most welcoming reception by the team outside, immediately taking care of our car and luggage.
Our room wasn't ready at arrival (we were a bit early), and they kept our luggage and found it in our rooms..... nicely organised and sorted.
The room was spacious, luxurious, comfortable.... and a tiny bit noisy (you could hear doors slamming, people talking, etc. ). But that's the only negative you'll hear from me about this wonderful hotel.
The bed was great, and I could have spent days in it, but we wanted to explore Antwerp a bit also. Bathroom was simply perfect, plenty of space, amazing rain shower and all the amenities you need.
When we got back to our room, they had done a turn-down service, finding our clothes nicely folded on our chairs.
And then the breakfast next morning..... lots of choice from the buffet, and a great selection of dishes that you can order à la carte.
Sure, you have to spend quite a bit on the stay. But they do live up to the promises and make it a very special stay for you!
One of our best stay in a luxury hotel. We will come back.
We had a junior suite 209.
AMong the best Buffet+AlaCarte breakfast ever seen.
The swimming pool area and the sauna are great and quiet - phones forbidden so it’s really great to enjoy the calmness of the space.
The hammam room itself is great, but the steam generator appeared to work only intermittently, resulting in temperatures fluctuating between very hot and merely warm.
One suggestion : the soft lighting atmosphere in the room is great, but it is needed to have some strong light from time to time : when you work, when you pack your bags…Please add something more powerful.
As a loyal guest of Botanic Sancturay I always have a magnificent experience with you guys. All the employees are truly professionals and running the extra miles for their guest. The rooms are always clean, beautiful furnished and there never something broken. A very cozy hotel in the center of Antwerp. Thank you for all the good services and my best regards to the entire team.
Hotel is beautiful but service is extremely poor! My usual beer is 3 times the price from a normal bar in the city but you need to beg for service. We were ignored for over 25 minutes. Bar tender never said hello or welcome. Three people behind the bar and zero service. We will never return. There were three people from Flemish tv pretending to be famous, ummmmm, it’s Flemish tv, get over yourself, but they got service because they were being typically obnoxious. If you claim to be the best in the city, service has a long way to go.
