The Hollywood Brown Derby in Lake Buena Vista is an authentic replica of the famous original Brown Derby restaurant, a Tinseltown landmark steeped in glamour and glitz. Located within Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort, its walls are adorned with caricatures of famous stars, recreating a classic Hollywood dining experience.
Customer Perception
Customer feedback suggests it's a worthwhile visit for the experience, though some reviews indicate that while it's good, it might not be a place one needs to visit repeatedly. It's generally considered a nice table service option within Hollywood Studios.
The original Brown Derby restaurant in Hollywood was renowned for its celebrity clientele and is famously credited with inventing the Cobb Salad. This Disney World location pays homage to that legacy.
Stopped by the Brown Derby and was able to bundle it with reserved ticket seating for Fantasmic! Highly recommend.
We were served by Said. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable. And started off the meal by explaining both food and beverage menus.
We ordered simple soda beverages with our meal - OJ and Sprite.
For the dining package, guests get an entree and dessert included. Thankfully, Said was able to a complete a small change for me which entailed ordering three apps and yarn having us pay extra if we needed to.
What a smart choice! I was able to try so many different things for my first time here, and they all took me on a flavour journey I have never experienced before! I was so pleasantly surprised by the flavour combinations of each of the dishes and everything was so delicious!
For dessert, I had to get the famous Grapefruit Cake. At first, it was very bitter from the grapefruit. But the more I ate it, the more pleasant it became - truly a flavour combination that surprised me. I pretty much picked my plate clean!
We have been eating through Disney for about 5 days now, and this was by far the BEST meal we have had yet. Ex pellet, and will definitely recommend to future patrons.
We made our reservation for the dinner package here with the VIP Fantasmic show seating. It included a drink, meal and dessert, any additions were extra, fair.
Our server was very friendly.
Our food was delicious except I really disliked the cheesecake dessert, I dismantled it to enjoy some of it and the cherries from the other dessert helped. All in all a great first experience.
Great meal, service and location. I think this was our best Disney meal. I appreciated the bread as a starter and the general ambiance of the restaurant. It was a great visit and we got to keep the specialty cubes from our drinks. The wait was a bit much despite our reservation. Otherwise I truly had an excellent experience here.
I can only speak to the Jollywood Nights event version of this restaurant, but that event in particular was well worth it and quality priced.
$60/head after ordering the entire menu and multiples of some of the plates. Jazz covers of Christmas music and the Hamilton soundtrack played as we dined. All the staff was super friendly and took really good care of us.
The Hamachi Crudo and Pork Bao were favorites, totally delicious and didn't seem in theme with a lot of what I normally get at Disney.
I hope I can come back and try this during regular hours
We came tonight for dinner, there were several tables available that would appear to fit us but we were bundled in the back next to, I’m not kidding an open back door and what appeared to be a bunch of serving equipment with lots of folks walking by to the outside. I’ve been here before with my family and this was a polar opposite experience.
We got left in the back and it took 15 minutes for us to even see a server to ask for drinks. Then another 40 for our meals which was made worse because they forgot one of our kids meals completely.
It will be a long time before we try the Derby again.
