An unforgettable dining experience in Moderna. We had the tasting menu for lunch and every course was exceptional -creative, elegant, full of incredible flavour. The presentation of each dish was beautiful, and every plate felt thoughtful and unique. What made the experience truly extraordinary was the warmth and generosity we received throughout the meal. We were treated to several additional dishes, including an amazing ravioli dish. Meeting Chef Massimo Bottura himself was an absolute highlight of our trip to Italy . The service, atmosphere , and attention to detail were world class! Thank you 🙂

We had dinner with friends at Franceschetta58, and overall, it is definitely an experience worth trying. The atmosphere is highly refined, the service is well-executed, and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming. While the quality of the ingredients is indisputable, I do have a small note regarding the cuisine: in a restaurant of this caliber, you expect a touch more ingenuity. Simplicity is a virtue, but some dishes—such as the pork belly (pancetta)—turned out to be far too basic, lacking that necessary spark. In Modena, excellence can be found everywhere when things are done masterfully, regardless of the setting. This was proven at lunch inside the historic Albinelli Market at "Vino e Tortellino," where we had some traditional Modenese tortellini that were out of this world for both quality and depth of flavor.These are two different ways of interpreting local cuisine. However, while the market's straightforward, popular approach reached absolute peaks, we expected a bit more culinary refinement from a more celebrated establishment like Franceschetta.

Exceptional flavors met with inconsistent service and wine pairing. ​I had mixed feelings about my experience at Franceschetta58. While the kitchen produces some truly world-class flavors, the overall flow of the evening and the wine program fell short of expectations. ​The Highlights: ​The Food: The Tortellono was spectacular, and the Pumpkin and Citrus Fruits dessert was absolutely fantastic. Every dish was served with impeccable presentation. ​Atmosphere: The restaurant has a very cozy and relaxed vibe, making it a comfortable spot for a high-end meal. ​Service & Facilities: The staff was cordial and attentive throughout the night. Additionally, the bathrooms were spotless, and the convenience of free street parking is a big plus. ​Areas for Improvement: ​The Wine Program: This was the most disappointing part. The wines in the pairing were underwhelming (all scoring around 89 points), which didn't match the caliber of the food. Furthermore, the pours were quite small—not even enough to last until the end of the course. ​Service Timing: There was a significant lag. Our wine was served well before the food arrived, leaving us with empty glasses by the time we actually started eating. ​Language Barrier: While the staff was friendly, the server struggled with English vocabulary when explaining the dishes, which made it difficult to fully appreciate the menu's nuances. ​Flavor Balance: A few dishes leaned a bit too heavy on bitter notes, overshadowing the other ingredients. ​Verdict: A beautiful space with high-quality ingredients, but the wine selection and the synchronization between the cellar and the kitchen need refinement to truly deliver a seamless experience.

As a huge fan of Massimo Bottura, visiting Franceschetta58 in Modena was a highlight of our December 2025 trip. This bistrot, founded by Bottura and led by the incredibly talented Chef Francesco Vincenzi, offers a more accessible but equally brilliant taste of the Francescana philosophy. We went for the tasting menu, and two dishes truly stood out. First, the tortellini by Il Tortellante, these are handmade by a wonderful social project in Modena that teaches the art of pasta-making to young people with autism. They were served in a rich Parmigiano Reggiano cream and were perfection. Second, the legendary Emilia Burger. It’s unlike any burger you've had: a patty made of beef mixed with cotechino gelatin and Parmigiano, served with salsa verde and balsamic mayonnaise in a soft brioche bun. Pure genius. The wine list is curated. It’s not endless, but every bottle has a great quality-to-price ratio. The service is exceptional; you can tell the team is trained to the world-class standards of one of the world's best restaurateurs. A must-visit!

I was recommended this restaurant by the chef i was working with in Berlin a dew years ago. Finally visited this time but in the middle of the heat wave and didn't have much appetite😅 The Lambrusco was too sour in the end but the food was interesting and amazing♡ this bean pasta dish was the best bean dish ive ever eaten🫛 The service was great and thank you for giving me a big table😊
