Georgian Cuisine Magnolia

We first visited Magnolia three years ago when we came to Kutaisi, and this time, returning to the city, we knew we wanted to come back here again. The food is truly wonderful — this is the kind of place where you can really feel and experience authentic Georgian cuisine. Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and made with care. This visit became even more special thanks to Nana, who helped us choose the dishes and introduced us to many new and amazing flavors. Her kindness, warmth, and attention made us feel incredibly welcome. Through her hospitality, we experienced the true spirit of Georgian culture and generosity. Thank you for such a lovely atmosphere, excellent food, and unforgettable memories. We will definitely come back again.

In terms of Georgian cuisine, this restaurant is the real deal. It offers an amazing choice of authentic dishes (arguably too many - see below) that are difficult to find elsewhere in Kutaisi. It also has some imaginative signature dishes. Where else, for example, could you find 'Chicken "Magnolia" in Barberry Sauce'? The issue is that it's difficult for the kitchen to cope with such an extensive menu. Admittedly we visited on a Friday evening in early June, when the restaurant was likely to be super-busy. However, with such a diverse menu it's doubtful the kitchen could cope even on slightly quieter evenings. This leads to disconnects. For example, my companion finished her main course (a delicious veal stew) ten minutes before mine (crispy pork flank with ajika and quince) arrived. Equally odd was the discrepancy in portion sizes. The veal stew was sufficient for one person but the second main could easily feed three people. In keeping with the kitchen chaos, service was equally erratic. The staff worked very hard to keep up with customers' requests but it was almost impossible. In summary, with a slimmed down menu and possibly more wait staff on busy evenings, this good restaurant could be truly great.

Some people chase fancy, multi-starred restaurants thinking that’s where the best food must be. But sometimes the most beautiful, deep and authentic flavors come from places where people simply cook with heart, passion, and honesty. This Georgian restaurant is exactly that kind of place. The food is absolutely delicious, freshly made, and full of real Georgian flavors. Everything tastes authentic and prepared with care. I’ve eaten here several times already and every visit has been wonderful. The atmosphere is warm, family-like and full of life — you truly feel like you’re sitting in a Georgian home rather than a restaurant. The place was full of both locals and tourists, and honestly it’s easy to understand why. When food, hospitality and passion come together like this, people naturally keep coming back. A truly special place.

Most beautiful restaurant which I saw in Georgia. Staff was nice and English fluent. Every position from the menu had a picture. Meals were really tasty, highly recommend visiting this place.
