Amazing is all I can say! The loaded fries were phenomenal, and I’m not a beer drinker but the cider was great. You can also play their provided games while at the table. What’s more to love? I would move in if possible, great place

I came here a few weeks ago with some members of my family. We're from Sydney, but made a short bereavement holiday trip to Newcastle after the loss of our dog, who was a beloved family member of ours. Immediately, upon arrival, the staff were incredibly kind and friendly, even without knowing anything about what we were, at the time, going through. What stood out the most, though, was the interior itself. There are games, cool flags and decoration, and very spacious booths. On top of all of that, the food was absolutely delicious. Every single thing that we ordered—which included a wrap, a burger, and fish-and-chips. Chef(s), please give yourselves a huge pat on the back for your talents. The sauce on the salad was especially delicious! What was most memorable, however, was the experience itself. For the first time in days, myself and the members of my family were able to smile after such a hard time. We played snakes-and-ladders, which I obviously won, while we ate. I'll definitely come back in the future! I'm honestly still craving that burger...

We always make a point of visiting Grainstore every time we’re in Newcastle, and this was our fifth visit — it truly never disappoints. We dined here with family on New Year’s Day and booked ahead, which was a good idea as many tables were also reserved. We always order the steak, and it’s consistently excellent — generous portion sizes, cooked well and absolutely delicious. Service is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is lively without feeling overwhelming. One of the standout features, especially when dining with family, is the games available on the tables. Having options like checkers, chess, Scrabble and snakes and ladders is such a great touch for entertaining kids or passing the time while waiting for food. If there was one small suggestion, it would be the option to order via a QR code from the table, as many pubs around Newcastle now offer this. That said, the line at the bar is never too long, so it’s really a minor point. Grainstore has become a staple for us — we genuinely don’t go to Newcastle without eating here. Highly recommended.

Always love going here! The staff are lovely and the food is always a hit! Its a really cool place to go for a feed, especially with the board games available at the tables. They offer a great selection of cocktails, and mocktails which is always a plus since not everyone is drinking these days!

The staff were super friendly, food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere. It’s a great place for family as in the middle of the room, there were board games, cards and colouring in. I even saw a couple playing chess while they had a drink. It was a classic pub with extra charm, including tvs around the room where rugby was playing. Lovely place, highly recommend.
