This is fine dining. Michelin starred excellent restaurant. We celebrated a birthday with the works. But we were there for almost five hours. Everything from the food to the service was perfect. The food was an adventure and each course was a work of art. I recommend making a day of it.
We had an amazing experience at La Vie Restaurant. The food tasted amazing, the personnel was very friendly and nice, the environment was cozy and calm.
It was our first experience of Fine dining and we were totally convinced that it deserved all the money, and we will definitely come back again.

My experience last night at La Vie by Thomas Buhner sits right up there amongst my best dining experiences. Each course served was simply delightful, demonstrating a profound mastery of flavours, textures and techniques. It was cooking at its absolute best - honest, unpretentious and awe-inspiring.
The service was also impeccable; the ambience was tasteful and elegant. Overall speaking, it was a 10/10 experience.
Thomas Buhner's previous restaurant in Osnabruck was hugely acclaimed and garnered 3 Michelin Stars. Well, in my book, his latest restaurant in Dusseldorf deserves the same recognition.
To the people at Michelin Guide, I hope you are paying attention. And to anyone going to Germany, this restaurant is a must-visit or in the words of Michelin - "worth making a special journey for".
A refined, calm, highly accomplished dining experience that stands out . The service feels attentive, precise, warm, yet never intrusive. The sommelier was outstanding: deeply knowledgeable, confident without theatrics, and clearly someone who truly masters his craft. The pairings elevated the experience rather than competing with it.
And the food: excellent from start to finish. You can immediately feel that this is a chef who has operated at the highest level. There is clarity, creativity, precision, and confidence in every dish, rather than spectacle. Highly recommended.
If I could give more than five stars, I would. The relaxing atmosphere, stellar service and unique, perfectly balanced dishes made this a night to remember. Days later we're still talking about different aspects of the menu. The recommendations by the sommelier were a perfect accompaniment.
