First visit to Mamani and wow already counting down until we go back. From the moment we were seated in the dreamy garden room, it honestly felt like we’d been transported somewhere else for the evening. Every dish felt thoughtful, balanced, and so beautifully executed.
We started with the house bread & Randolph Le Meunier butter, then tried:
• Blue crystal prawns with basil, pine nuts & espelette
• Leeks vinaigrette with hazelnut & calamansi
• Potato gnocchi
• Cappelletti with veal ricotta & barigoule broth
• Black cod with miso, morel & seaweed beurre blanc
• Clafoutis
• Paris Catalina
Highlights of the night: the blue crystal prawns were PERFECTLY tender with the light crunch and flavor from the basil and pine nuts tying everything together beautifully. The leeks vinaigrette completely surprised us too. It was slightly sweet, incredibly tender, and somehow even better with the hazelnut pairing.
But the dish that absolutely blew our minds was the black cod. It was so buttery and delicate that it practically fell apart into perfect bite-sized pieces with the slightest touch. The seaweed beurre blanc was unbelievably rich and flavorful, and even my fiancé who normally does not like mushrooms loved the morels in the dish. Easily one of the best fish dishes we’ve ever had.
Such a special first experience here and definitely not our last. 🤍
The food was decent overall, but I expected more from a Michelin starred restaurant. The pasta dishes were definitely the highlight of the meal, well executed and flavorful. The duck was just okay and didn’t really stand out, while the hamachi crudo was fine but nothing particularly memorable. Service was also a bit disappointing. It wasn’t bad, but it lacked the attentiveness and attention to detail you’d typically expect from a fine dining experience at this level. For the price and reputation, I was hoping for something more impressive. It was a good meal, but not one that I’d go out of my way to revisit.
Fabulous meal and amazing service. It is no wonder they earned a Michelin Star only a few short months after opening. The menu is simple and elegant, the drinks are elevated and delicious. Each bite got better then the next. The service was excellent, John took great care of us and made amazing recommendations. Stand our bites were the bread and butter, scallop crudo, lamb chops and the past aglio e olio. Make sure lland save room for dessert, Paris Breast was our favorite. We will definitely be back for more yummy bites!
Staff were highly attentive and polite. The quality of the ingredients was also readily apparent but the dishes were way too salty while paradoxically lacking any flavor. Ironically, the veal cordon bleu, which was supposed to be one of the flagship dishes of this establishment, was also its weakest. The pommes purée was lifeless (and did I mention inedibly salty?). It made for a frustratingly unbalanced experience. All hype but no bite. Not to mention the bill was a little over $300. I had saved up a lot to make this a worthwhile first-time Michelin star experience for my family and we were really let down, especially as we were celebrating a special occasion. Would've rather eaten at my local diner or something tbh. The blue crystal prawns and the bread were alright though I guess, but nothing to write home about. The Paris-Brest dessert, particularly the combination of the velvety praline and the hazelnut cream was maybe the only remotely redeeming part of the meal. Honestly given how much we were scammed out of our money, this was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Save yourself the trouble and go to one of the handful of bib gourmands and James Beard places around town that actually live up to the praise.
Amazing experience. Food was as perfect as I could have imagined. Staff did a fantastic job of helping us order and give us background on the chef and origins of the food. Flavors were perfectly balanced. Food was cooked perfectly. A very special experience to be able to go here and eat. I would recommend this to all who get a chance.
