Im giving this a 5/5 because a 4 would be unjust. More specifically, Id rate this an easy 4.7/5. The food was fun, flavorful and balanced. The atmosphere was small and nice. It felt like a classic neighborhood restaurant that just so happened to be fine dining. The service was excellent (a nice refresher since the overall decline of restaurant service since Covid). For drinks we ordered the Hazel apertif, the martini made with an ONION broth (wow!) and the Sunshine recorder. The cocktails were all balanced but the martini stuck out to me the most. The soft and sweet flavor of the onion is a refreshing take on a classic. For apps we had the Swedish duck waffel, purple turnip soup, the spaetzel and oyster mushrooms. The only one we did NOT love was the spaetzel. It's good but the flavor is fairly one dimensional. The texture is fun and its a decent break in the courses to munch on but its forgettable. For dinner we both had the duck and I must say it's certainly the best I've ever had. It was remarkably juicy and full of flavor. I added a poached egg and curd to lair with it- the waiter said it was a first in the 3 years he'd been there- yet I'd highly recommend trying it. We tried two wine pairings per the waiters recommendations. A red for the duck and a white with dessert and both were SPOT on recommendations. Lastly, we had all three desserts. The french toast/monkey break dessert was to die for. A creme brulee style top was superb. The pan cotta was soft, sweet and salty; a fun try. The apple pie was somehow the worst thing we had all night and truly the only negative. There was no creativity and the crust was soggy. Overall, this place is a knockout and we cannot recommend it enough. I wish them great success!!
One of the best dinners I've had in a while. The pickles were unique and fresh. The corn waffle with duck was savory and crispy. The roasted squash was absolutely stunning; it was sweet, savory, and balanced beautifully. Maybe my favorite squash dish I've ever had at a restaurant. The mushrooms were locally foraged, and the duck confit melted in my mouth. Finally, the pain perdu with sunchoke ice cream was a perfect ending to the meal. To drink I had the Deborah and the sbagliato (ooh stunning).
Truly one of my favorite meals, not just in MN, but anywhere
A fine neighborhood restaurant that doesn't rise to the top when compared to the best the Twin Cities has to offer. Overall the dishes were fairly flat and one note, save for the perfectly cooked duck. Flavors and dish composition felt uninspired.
Location/atmosphere were great, very cute intimate setting. Staff were also beyond reproach.
Worth a visit if you're a completionist who wants to try all the notable Twin Cities restaurants but I wouldn't prioritize it.
We had one of the best dinning experiences in recent memory at Myriel. Everything we ordered was Excellent, from the drinks and charcuterie to the salads, mains and desert. The service was exceptional! Very knowledgeable and attentive but never overbearing. Just right.
The place is very intimate and a bit tight, but it was not loud and felt very charming.
Kudos to the the team pulling this off. Fantastic meal and experience overall! We'll be back.
Michelin level flavors, ingredients, and concept. Some awkwardness in execution (the soup came lukewarm and spacing between some later courses was longer than expected) but certainly one of the best restaurants in the state and one worth returning to.
