Smash Things

Reserved 3 seats for a Saturday visit. The shop is a little off the beaten path, about a 5-10 minute walk from Komazawa-daigaku Station. The decor is very clean and white throughout, with white tiled walls decorated with old pink eiga movie posters and American pop playing in the background. There are about 16-20 seats, all unpadded metal stools with white tables. Family-size mustard and ketchup bottles are placed on the tables, along with burger sleeves and napkins. The service was efficient, kind, and very friendly. The burgers start from JPY 1,400 for a single wagyu cheeseburger with onions on a milk bun, and JPY 1,500 for the same burger on a charcoal bun. Fries can be added for JPY 200, or fries and a drink for JPY 500. The patties were excellent smash burger patties: crunchy on the outside, juicy inside, and very well seasoned without being too much or too little of anything. They are topped with diced onions and the house sauce. I tried both buns and personally did not notice much difference apart from the appearance. The texture of both buns was slightly too soft for my taste, as they compressed when pressed but did not really bounce back. The fries were slightly breaded, but most were quite soft and lacked crunch. There were no utensils at the table, which would have been helpful for the fries. Overall, the service was fantastic and the burger patty itself was close to perfect. While some parts of the meal were not quite to my personal taste, this is still well worth a visit for any smash burger lover.

Got myself a chili burger for dinner. Personally, I wished the buns were less chewy and flavors were stronger with more spices from the ingredients themselves. The spiciness didn't really hit, but maybe that was just personal preference. However the atmosphere was lovely, I love to dine at pet-friendly places. The background music was great as well, gives a very chill vibe here. Thanks for the experience.

Cool atmosphere & friendly folks. Dogs are welcome which is great. Did a Chili burger takeaway. The buns are firm enough to maintain shape, not sweet and not dry. The beef patties were flavorsome and cooked just on the side of firm, holding shape down to the end. Loved the dash of heat from the chilli sauce and jalapenos!

Best burger dining experience. Love the vibe, music, the burgers. Service is top-tier. Very friendly. Pet-friendly, too. Will definitely keep coming back.
