Customers generally praise Tao Yuen Pastry for its great prices, good food, and wide selection of choices. The baked pork buns, fried chicken, and various pastries (especially taro pineapple buns and pineapple buns) receive high marks for being delicious and affordable. Reviewers appreciate the clean and organized environment despite its busy nature. However, some feedback notes that certain dishes, like chicken entrees, chow mein, and bbq bao, can be dry, bland, or lack sufficient filling. The dumplings (har gow) are sometimes perceived as small with less shrimp than expected, and some find the price per dumpling a bit steep.
