The Ostlers is an informal modern breakfast room, bar, and event space located in the historic village of Horndon-on-the-Hill. It operates as a sister establishment to the nearby 15th Century Coaching Inn, The Bell Inn, and shares management. The interior features oak scrubbed tables and a stunning oak wood bar, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Customer feedback generally praises the quality of the food, particularly the breakfast, and the helpful staff. Reviews highlight dishes like creamy scrambled eggs and perfectly poached eggs. While some describe the prices as reasonable, others note it can be expensive. A common point of criticism is the acoustics in the conservatory-type room, which can make conversations difficult.
The Ostlers is closely associated with The Bell Inn, a historic coaching inn run by the same family for over 88 years. It also serves as a dedicated event space, offering facilities for various functions.
Ideal for breakfast, served midweek until 9:30 am and weekends until 10 am. It's also suitable for a morning brew or afternoon tea. As a bar and event space, it likely operates throughout the day for drinks and functions.
