Yamas

Lovely restaurant right by the water. Started with olives and the cheese pie with honey - yum! Then had the jumbo prawn, calamari and Greek salad. Salad and prawn were delicious but calamari lacked flavour - I told the waitress this and she comped 50%. Wasn't expecting that but was very grateful. Then had the lamb for main to share - to be honest it was quite overcooked and dry. Then had baklava and feta cheesecake for dessert and both were delicious. I enjoyed the whole experience even if the food wasn't 100%. Service was great!

What a lovely meal we had with family and friends, highly recommend. If you ever went last year and enjoyed it, I can hands down say you will be blown away by the elevation in both menu and presentation of the food. The flavours are incredible and the dishes are as close to art work as food can get. Just beautiful. I love the addition or the raw dishes , oysters my favourite but I know they are not for everyone, also the tuna was superb. Lots of choice for every pallet Small but perfect changes to the upstairs bar make for very comfy and classy pre drinks or an elegant space to share a bottle or two with friends. Great cocktails also. The summer it will be packed out so booking is a must. Congratulations Yamas your winning in culinary excellence

Amazing place! The food is top-notch, full of flavour, and beautifully served. The staff is super friendly. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

Excellent food - we have been coming back to Yamas every year on our holiday too Looe and it’s always amazing! Service is great. The location is great. It’s our favourite place to go!

Highly recommend this restaurant, the staff were attentive and helpful to our table of four, and the menu had a perfect number of choices on it. Our meals were beautifully presented and we all enjoyed them. The hummus and tarama were smooth and very moreish, flatbreads were soft and warm. The olives were fat and fruity, really quite nice, and I do not usually eat olives so tried them at the urging of my friend, and will happily recommend them. The kleftico was perfectly cooked and my kebabs took me straight back to my Mum's village in Southern Europe, amazing. Our companions enjoyed their mousakka and King Prawns (huge!). If you are choosing the smaller plates then you will 100% want to order a side, we shared the oregano fries which again, were delicious. The puddings get their own paragraph, OMG just leave room in your tummies for them. My baklava was super moist and whilst not quite to my Auntie Maria's very high standard of baklava (which she unapologetically over fills with pistachios), it was the best version I've had so far in any restaurant, with a generous nut mix and the honey syrup/pastry combo was perfect. My husband had the baklava cheesecake which he said was very sweet, my friend had the raspberry posset which I tried some of and would definitely order for myself next time. All in all, a fantastic little restaurant. Our personal preferences would be a little more salad with the kebabs and another potato or two with the kleftico but now we know the portion sizes we will order extra next time. Be aware the toilets are up a flight of steep steps. Yes, a little bit pricey but we were at the waterside in Looe with a beautiful night time view across the water and one extra pound or two on each meal I felt was well worth that. Great location, attentive staff, amazing food. 100% recommended.
