We had booked an afternoon tea for a larger group. We had specifically requested to sit outside and had also informed them in advance that one member of our party was vegetarian. We were told that none of this would be a problem. However, when we arrived, the lady in the restaurant told us, in a rather unfriendly manner, that afternoon tea could not be served outside. As we had a small dog with us, we therefore had to move to a separate room inside the restaurant. The room itself was lovely and we had it entirely to ourselves, but it was simply not what had been communicated to us beforehand. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service really fell short. The vegetarian options were missing, despite us having mentioned this again in advance. Our drinks arrived late and, even though we were there for afternoon tea, apart from once at the very beginning, no one came to ask whether we would like any more tea. The food itself was nice and the view was beautiful, but the level of service was simply not good enough. And to then automatically add a 12.5% service charge to the bill? No, that really isn’t acceptable.

A few of the staff were friendly, although unfortunately one was not. Overall, we didn’t find the service particularly accommodating. The food was quite bland, and the service was very slow. No one came over to take our order for quite some time, and finished plates were left on the table without being cleared. The lady who I can only presume was the restaurant or waiting manager seemed to be blatantly ignoring us, which made the whole experience feel quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there are much nicer places in town that I’d choose over this one.

Thank you for looking after us so well for our Father’s Day lunch! We had a great table with stunning views, and thoroughly enjoyed our meals along with the wine! The restaurant and bar have a very relaxed atmosphere which made for a lovely few hours!

Nice Hotel restaurant overlooking Padstow bay. Modern interior good menu with fair prices. We had dinner for two with a nice table on the window. Unfortunately the dish we had selected online before making a reservation ( Asian style Salmon) was not available which was very disappointing. The alternatives were good and we had a nice dinner. Service was attentive and friendly. Will come back!

Great food - but as pointed out to the restaurant “Catch of the Day” is hardly “farmed” Salmon… I think you need to change your supplier if this is the best they have to offer in such a “fish capital “ of the world!
