⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Masterpiece in Beverly Hills!
From the moment you walk into 88 Club, you are completely transported. The ambiance is unmatched—moody, intimate, and effortlessly chic, with a stunning low-lit marble bar that sets the perfect tone for an upscale evening.
The culinary execution here is nothing short of extraordinary, blending incredible technical precision with deep, comforting flavors. The wok-fired dishes possess incredible depth, from the perfectly chewy, savory rice cakes to the beautifully charred, spicy stir-fried cabbage. Two absolute standouts were the brilliantly creative, crispy shrimp toast topped and the charsiu pork, which has a perfect sweet-savory glaze and melts in your mouth.
Even the main courses and sides excel, like the crispy fried fish in a rich sauce, an incredibly juicy roasted chicken, and a fluffy fried rice packed with vibrant snap peas. Whatever you do, save room for dessert—the signature pastries feature a shattered-crisp exterior and an impossibly light, luscious cream filling that isn't overly sweet. 88 Club is easily one of the best dining experiences in the city right now. I already can’t wait to come back!
It’s so good that I’m going to have to bring my Chinese mother here soon. Do not let the negative reviews deter you from trying this place.

Chef Mei Lin’s take on Chinese cuisine that is elevated by paying homage to classic dishes. My favorite dish of the night was the Nam Yu Roasted Chicken. The way it was cooked reminded me of duck and it was so juicy and tender in a velvety sauce full of flavor. For drinks, my favorite was the Martini 88 that is such a unique take on a martini with Chinese mustard greens that pairs very well. Their signature is the Prawn Toast that is super nostalgic and tasty. Small and romantic atmosphere. Service was friendly and super nice too!
One of my all time favorite restaurants was Nightshade in LA, an unfortunate casualty of Covid. But Chef Mei Lin rallied back with the opening of her new restaurant, the 88 Club. Dark and sensual it's a glamorous take on some traditional Chinese dishes and it certainly "stuck the landing." Some menu highlights are the Sesame Prawn toast, Fish Fragrant eggplant and the Nam Yu roasted chicken that feels like a rich bow to Peking Duck. We ended with black sesame ice cream and were so pleased we saved the room. It's a meal for a date to impress since cost can't be a concern. The service was outstanding and the vibe, well it is in Beverly Hills.
The food was excellent and well presented. Our waiter Colin was friendly and attentive. He also knew the menu very well. We were very pleased with our experience
