am very disappointed with my recent experience at AlphaMega in Nicosia.
I shop there regularly, usually visiting several times a month and spending well over €250 each week. In the past, I have generally been satisfied with the service, which is why this experience was so disappointing.
At the butcher counter, I specifically requested lamb and politely asked that it not be cut with the same knives that had just been used on pork. This request was important to me for religious reasons. Unfortunately, my request was ignored, and the lamb was cut using knives that had already been used on pork.
I believe customers' religious and dietary requirements should be treated with respect. If a request cannot be accommodated, that should be explained clearly rather than disregarded.
As a result of this experience, I have decided to stop shopping there. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that staff are more attentive to customers' reasonable requests in the future.
For anyone with religious or dietary concerns regarding cross-contamination, I would recommend asking detailed questions before making a purchase.
I enjoy shopping at Alphamega, but I’m leaving this review specifically because of the brookie. Unfortunately, it really missed the mark for me.
It was overwhelmingly sweet and I could mostly taste chocolate with very little of the biscuit base coming through.
Instead of a balanced dessert it felt one dimensional and a bit overpowering. I would have preferred a more even mix where the biscuit flavour is more present and the sweetness better balanced
I am making clear that the 1 star has nothing to do with the employees or the general customer experience one can have at the specific supermarket as the staff is very attentive.
Even though i would suggest to the management/supervisors or whatever the rank when it comes to disciplining their workers to do it in private and not in public. Doing it publicly it’s bad for the customers, the staff and your reputation.
Over the past 12 years, this supermarket has often been my preferred place to shop. Recently, however, I’ve noticed significant changes in the experience. The selection of gourmet food items has become much more limited than in previous years, and the availability of gluten‑free and organic products is now quite small. I’ve also observed that the prices of fruits and vegetables are considerably higher than what I typically find at the fresh market.
These changes have made it harder for me to find what I need, so I’m reassessing whether it still meets my shopping needs. I hope Alpha Mega will consider expanding its selection again, as it used to be an excellent option.
Very good store, nice deals, app, service is very helpful, very good quality of meet, huge asortment of cheese and polish products. Calzedonia and flower store are very nice too. Maks and Spencer is tiny.
