I’ve been a regular customer of The Beefeater for many years, but today I witnessed a medical marvel: three grown adults who apparently suffer from a rare condition where waiting more than 10 seconds causes total psychological collapse!
While enjoying a quiet drink, I watched this trio walk into the restaurant. They stood at the front desk for a grueling, agonizing 10 seconds before deciding they had been abandoned by society. Naturally, instead of waiting like normal humans, they launched a search-and-rescue mission into the bar, before storming the main restaurant like they were raiding the Bastille!
Mind you, the manager and her team were actively running around serving actual guests. But that didn't matter to our main character, who demanded to know why they were being "ignored" and began aggressively demanding names, completely outraged that the red carpet hadn't been rolled out the moment their feet hit the mat.
Look, if your patience is that microscopic and you need food shoved into your face the millisecond you get a hunger pang, go to McDonald’s or buy a Pot Noodle from the local shop.
The staff shouldn't have to put up with a public temper tantrum, especially when they were working their socks off. It was so ridiculous that half the restaurant actually stood up to defend the staff, united in absolute bewilderment at the 10-second meltdown we had all just witnessed.
Naturally, I finished my pint, smug in the knowledge that I possess the basic human capacity to wait 11 seconds without having a breakdown.
In all seriousness, the team handled that sudden burst of toddler energy beautifully.
They are a genuinely fantastic bunch of people, and they deserve a medal for keeping their cool when faced with that level of weapons-grade entitlement. Cheers to the team—you're absolute stars! 🍻
We ate here 2 days with a very big group. The food was generally okay, large portions but some items were really oily. Service was generally fine, the second day it took a very long time before all of our desserts came, some members of our group ordered additional drinks and some of them didn’t even show up, even after asking. The tables were really sticky, still after a good wipe
Had a quick dinner here with friends, atmosphere was great, food was lovely, price was very reasonable and service was fantastic from K-C. Would definitely come back here.
Met family here today after a long tailback on the M25. There weren't many staff but the two who were there were extremely friendly and helpful. They made the experience a good one and, with the bad news of Beefeaters closing (been to two in the last ten days) I hope they stay in employment.
My food was also very well cooked and tasty.
