Big Bob Gibson BBQ

This was not a bad spot to eat. We are bbq junkies and always looking for some good brisket. We popped in twice this week around 12 to 1 and this place gets super busy but we didn't have to wait we were seated immediately. The first day we ordered the brisket with 2 sides. The brisket was real fatty but thick. The second day was way better brisket was a bit thinner but the edges were cooked and barely any fat and taste was really good. The nachos with pulled pork was good. Only complaint I had was I ordered a side of potatoe salad and never got it, but I was not charged so it's all good.

I went here back in June 2023 and I wanted to give it a try because I researched that this restaurant is known for this particular type of BBQ in Northern Alabama. The common food is often order there is the smoked wings with the famous white sauce. The food was amazing and delicious is very tasty! I want to come back here eventually. One of my favorite bbq styles of all time!

Service was great. Friendly and fast. Wings are the clear winner, make sure you try them. The spicy version has virtually no spice but they are meaty and flavorful, the sauce was very sweet and no heat. I did the pulled pork and quarter dark chicken because they were out of brisket. The chicken was good and the pulled pork was only OK, not much flavor or smoke. The Mac and cheese was decent, but the green beans were mush with no flavor. I also got slices of the peanut butter and the pecan pie and both we good but not amazing.

Not the best, but not bad. The wings were good, not as many wings as I expected with a normal portion. The brisket was dry. The quarter chicken was good. Everything seemed to be on the the smaller size of portions. This might be a southern portions versus Northern portions issue, LOL. Prices were in line with the portions. Our waitress was really nice and attentive to all our needs. We had a gluten and dairy allergy and she was able to get us a menu that we could order from.
