I had a great experience at China Grill in Bal Harbour Shops today. We ordered several dishes, and everything was delicious. I especially recommend the shrimp dumplings and the crispy rice with Wagyu and black caviar—both were outstanding. We also tried the branzino, which was excellent. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with soft, dim lighting that creates a very pleasant ambiance. The service was exceptional—our servers were attentive, friendly, and always made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back!

It is beyond thrilling to see this iconic dining institution make its return to South Florida. I brought some out-of-town friends here for a special night out, and it completely blew them away. Our evening started at the bar, and we thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional cocktails while waiting to be seated. The mixology is creative, perfectly balanced, and set an incredible tone for the rest of the night. The restaurant design style and decor are absolutely breathtaking. They’ve managed to create a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic that still pays beautiful homage to their legendary roots. The floating lighting elements and the layout give the space an energetic, upscale atmosphere that feels perfectly suited for Bal Harbour. The food is just as magnificent as I remembered, with some incredible modern touches. Every bite was a revelation. We ordered the signature Lobster Pancakes and Lamb Spare Ribs, and they were cooked to absolute perfection. The famous Peking Duck was a masterclass in flavor and texture—perfectly crispy and incredibly succulent. To top it all off, the legendary Banana Box dessert was the ultimate grand finale, a decadent masterpiece that you simply cannot miss. Sharing these globally-inspired, continuous-arrival dishes made the whole dining experience feel like a lively celebration with friends. What truly sets this establishment apart, however, is the unprecedented personalized service. The hospitality is world-class. Above all, the unprecedented and personalized service from Martine and Vika, who are truly amazing. Their attention to detail, warmth, and dedication to ensuring every guest feels valued made our night feel incredibly special. Their hospitality is unmatched. 10/5 stars! We had brunch at the new China Grill location in Bal Harbour and it did not disappoint! From the moment we sat down, the staff was excellent — attentive, warm, and genuinely happy to have us there. You could tell they take pride in the new space. Food-wise, we were blown away. The Singapore vegetable with salmon crudo was fresh, light, and so flavorful — a perfect way to start. We also got the dynamite grilled dumpling tacos, which were a fun, creative twist and packed with flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

I literally do not understand how this restaurant has any good ratings on Google because 4 separate people told us it was really subar/bad… but we still wanted to give it a shot because the OG was so good. I swear this restaurant must be buying google ratings. Summer Roll: 8/10
. The only good thing we ordered. Honestly, it was a 10/10 for taste, but getting literally 4 tiny pieces of vegetables for $16 is absolute insanity. Peking Duck Salad: 4/10. 
It seemed like one of those giant Asian salad mixes you buy from Costco with day-old meat thrown into it. Gilded Dumplings: 0/10
. Truly repulsive. They tasted like warmed canned tuna in a pasta wrapper. It was basically what I imagine a warm can of cat food would taste like. Disgusting. Pastrami Egg Roll: 5/10
. It’s hard to mess up something fried, yet somehow they did. It was basically a double layer of egg-roll wrapper with almost no meat or filling. Super heavy. Crispy Chicken Over Wide Rice Noodles: 3/10. The fact that this dish cost $42 is actually insane. The menu said it came with corn and pea shoots, yet there were zero pieces of corn and zero pea shoots. It was the most basic pasta ever. It wasn’t horrible, but it genuinely tasted like a frozen meal warmed up in the microwave, and there was barely any sauce. Service: 2/10
. We make a point of dining during off-hours to avoid crowds and requested a booth. Three of the five booths were open, but we were told they were all reserved. We were there for an entire hour, and not a single one was used. There were only 3 or 4 other parties in the restaurant, yet we still waited a very long time for the bill. We have no problem paying high prices for genuinely good food. This was subpar to downright gross food paired with zero real hospitality.
