Our group of six very much enjoyed our experience. Everyone's food was delicious. I especially enjoyed my veal with lemon sauce. Excellent noise levels in the restaurant even when it was full. The wait staff and the food were excellent. We'll definitely be back.
My family and I attempted to dine here yesterday around 5:30 PM. We arrived with our children, who are very well-behaved and regularly accompany us to restaurants that are considerably more upscale than this one without any issues.
The experience started poorly. The hostess appeared to take one look at our children and immediately seemed uninterested in seating us. Without even appearing to check the reservation book, she told us they were booked up for the next 30 minutes. This was difficult to believe given that there were only about five occupied tables in the entire restaurant. She then added that it would be another 15 minutes after that before a table would be available.
The interaction left us with the clear impression that our family was being turned away because we had children rather than because the restaurant was genuinely full.
We chose to leave and spend our money elsewhere. Restaurants are free to cater to whatever clientele they want, but treating families as though they are unwelcome is not a great long-term business strategy.
Ironically, while our children seemed to be viewed as a problem, there was an older gentleman parked directly in front of the restaurant standing on top of his Mercedes convertible drawing attention to himself. I would think that would be far more concerning to the image of the business than a family with polite children looking to have dinner.
Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Very nice atmosphere. Service was great. Food was good. We had 2 appetizers of crab stuffed mushrooms and artichokes. Although they were ok. I would not order again. Our 3 dinners were oven roasted orange roughy...my friend enjoyed it. Shrimp linguini was enjoyed by my other friend. I had the chicken D'agnese with a side of pasta. The chicken was supposed to come with an artichoke. Since no artichoke was on my plate I had to ask. Our server brought 2 out. It was the same as the fried artichoke we had for the appetizer which surprised me. My side of pasta was very hard. More then al dente. I didn't eat it. I hardly ate the chicken. We had dessert of carrot cake and raspberry cream brulee. Carrot cake was good but I didn't care for the raspberries inside the cream brulee. I assumed it would be on top. All in all it was a nice evening. I would order something different when going back.
The short ribs were excellent! The service by Terry was extremely nice. She is a very good waitress. The calamari is passable, not the best, but very good.
