Customer Perception
Customers praise Fremont Garage for its excellent and growing selection of food carts, with particular highlights on Que Bacano (Colombian, gluten-free), Your Side Chicks (top-9 allergen-free), and Rayal Indian. The atmosphere is described as lively and unique, maintaining some of its original garage feel. Some reviews mention long wait times at specific carts, particularly Rayal Indian, and one reviewer found the acoustics inside to be loud.
Such an awesome spot to have in the neighborhood! Cart selection is excellent and keeps getting better. Great veg & gluten free/dairy free options between the Que Bacano (full GF Colombian food menu), Rayal indian, and now Your Side Chicks with their fully top-9 allergen free menu! Several other awesome options (burgers, asian-fusion, shawarma) but so far everything I've had there has been excellent. I will echo what others have said about the Rayal Indian having an extremely long wait - I chocked it up to their being new (~1 week after open), but we waited 45min for channa masala which felt crazy. I'll have to try it again to see if they've gotten more efficient.
Que Bacano empanadas were excellent. Perfect appetizer portion for two, stuffed full, excellent dipping sauce, super crispy and gluten free.
Your Side Chicks is my new favorite chicken spot in Portland. it's SO GOOD!! so many flavors and everything has tasted top-quality, super fresh, and so so crispy. GF fried chicken is such a treat.
Atmosphere is great with TV's outside for sports, easy access to water refill, and short drink lines. Now with the Beaumont Crossing street closure next door, there's more seating and space than ever!
Love this place. The bartenders are fun, attentive and knowledgeable. You can tell they like their jobs. Manager is awesome and and it’s obvious the care he puts into customers and employees. The food trucks are amazing also, so many good options
I'm not sure how to rate this...as I usually avoid low reviews.
Love food truck pods but since this one is new I'll do 3 stars for room for improvement since they are new.
The outdoor seating is covered with heaters, which is great but something is weird with acoustics making it feel very loud and hard to hear people outside.
It's even louder inside the bar area, which isn't a surprise.
We ate at India King and our food took over an hour to be ready, with no warning or apology. We watched our friends eat, then ordered more food from another cart to share, well before our food came up. Usually if they know they are slammed they let you know before you order. Waiting an hour at a food cart for dinner is not okay. When I told them I was disappointed they were just like, Well it's the dinner rush. Usually people comp you or give a little something for your wait. Not here.
The food was mediocre, sadly. My dal tasted burned. We have so much great food in this city and I doubt I'll return back here.
Lively spot with a good, diverse selection of food and drinks. I like that they maintained some of the car garage feel. It was unique to other pods I’ve been too and not overdone.
1000% will be back here. Beautiful Saturday afternoon, opening weekend, and it was hoppin! Barely waited for food, was in line at the bar for 2 minutes. Food was excellent (Wolf’s Head) and drinks were refreshing. I did not think inside was overly loud as others have said, but with plenty of seating outside you can move if needed.
