Awesome fried chicken. The lemonade was very sweet in my opinion. Customer service was extremely slow for dine in options. Plenty of indoor seating and paid parking only. You can ask the restaurant for free parking voucher.
I have been to Deep Ellum so often and didn’t realize this place was so convenient. I got the tenders, the mac n cheese, and the beans. I wish I had room for a slice of pie because two tables next to me got it and it looked really good. My food was delicious. The service was friendly, fast, and attentive. I was headed to a concert so it was nice to sit down, have a warm meal, and get going. I’ll definitely return.
This is the best chicken. I've had it in Mississippi, Memphis, and Kentucky because it's the only place I've eaten and loved the chicken enough to repeatedly come back. I drive out of my way for this spicy but not "hot" chicken! I love that I can get a meal or just a piece of chicken. If I hang out in deep ellum to do anything, including that scooter excursion or getting my hair done, I get Gus's chicken delivered!
The only thing good about this place is the decoration, I was super hungry that morning but not even for being so hungry I could eat all of it, they took so long giving me my order and I’ve never seen no chicken with sweet beans atp just give us chili from a can. French fries straight of out of the freezer nothing homemade. The laziest restaurant I’ve ever seen. It’s like a disrespect to the fried chicken history. Y’all go try Mike’s chicken they take the same time and with sm flavor.
Chicken was good and crispy, the sides were just mid to me. There was a lot of open seating. I was not aware that they offer a parking voucher...as I ended up paying.
