Joey G's Mac N Cheese is a local favorite in Chicago's Ukrainian Village, specializing in gourmet mac and cheese bowls. They aim to serve the best mac n cheese in the city and also offer a broader menu including pizza, pasta, salads, subs, appetizers, and Sherman's Ice Cream.
Customer feedback is mixed but generally positive. Many praise the generous portions, especially the pulled pork mac and cheese, and the quality of toppings like garlic shrimp. Appetizers like fried mozzarella sticks and milkshakes are also well-received. However, some customers have found the mac and cheese sauce to be processed or one-dimensional, comparing it to Velveeta, and not living up to the 'best in the city' claim. There have been isolated reports of incorrect orders and early closing times affecting service.
Beyond their signature mac and cheese, Joey G's also serves a variety of other dishes including pizza, pasta, salads, subs, and appetizers. They also offer Sherman's Ice Cream from South Haven, MI.
The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 am, closing at 9:00 pm on weekdays and Sundays, and 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Weekends and evenings are likely popular times for both dining and takeout/delivery.
