Every time I passed this restaurant in Katara, it was always busy with Qatari families and locals, which made me curious to finally give it a try.
The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of dishes from appetizers to desserts. What impressed me most was the huge selection of desserts.
We started with the French onion soup, which reminded me of the authentic version I had in France. The flavor was excellent, although I would have loved a slightly larger portion. The sandwich was loaded with cheese and very filling, making it perfect for sharing with a friend.
For dessert, we tried the chocolate roll. As expected from a French-inspired restaurant, it was rich, smooth, and practically melted in my mouth. I also noticed a customer at the next table ordering vanilla ice cream, and I was amazed by the size, it looked almost like a bucket! If you’re a vanilla ice cream lover, it’s definitely worth trying. The portion seemed large enough for five people to share.
Mr. Mohammed and Mr. Adel were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Tried breakfast and lunch/ dinner menu. The zaatar flatbread didn’t have enough zaatar so we didn’t rly like it. The scrambled eggs were ok. The french toast was ok too, comes with caramel, jam and cream. We enjoyed the lunch menu more. We had escargot which is our favorite dish here. So flavorful to eat with the bread it comes with. I never thought I’d eat “snails” but you rly don’t feel anything yucky, it’s like eating mushrooms. The steak sandwich is so delicious. Burrata salad was good. The shrimp was rly good too. Also loved the creme brulee. Will keep coming back for sure. They have valet parking but for 30 riyals. Better make reservations ahead but if you come early in the morning you can find tables quick, gets busy after 10:30. We came second day of Eid around 10 and we were seated immediately.
1. horrible service. i was given a dirty fork (i could feel the dried food left over on the fork and it was very visible🤢) so i signaled for the waiter, she came over and took the fork without asking about the issue, she left me with my mouth open about to speak and ignored it just to bring me back a clean one then rushing off before i could say a word, whats even worse is that she threw it back in the drawer instead of taking it back to the kitchen to be washed again.
the waiters asked the people around us if they liked the food but didn’t ask us which i suspect was because we looked younger so werent taken seriously
2. i ordered the pizza, as you see in the attached picture the pizza is paper thin, its like i ordered an open sandwich instead of pizza. i ordered matcha, tasted like tap water, they didnt even invest in a good matcha brand its disappointing.(but to be fair i told them to take it back and off the bill after one sip and they did it as asked) their tiramisu was nice though. their desserts look good as shown in the pictures.
3. the tables for two are tiny, it was so small that our feet kept hitting each other when we sat infront of each others, and when you try to leave you have to squeeze between the tables with no space! the bathroom was small too, for a restaurant that size it doesn’t accommodate to the demand, the girls were stacked in the small shared bathroom area and there were two stalls only.
OVERALL: wouldn’t come here again, it was a bad experience, you expect to be treated with basic decency when you go to a nice place but we were treated poorly and the quality is less than mediocre, VERY disappointing.
i wouldn’t have wrote a negative review just because i dont like the food, taste is personal opinion, but the treatment is what bothered me. THE STAFF SELECT CUSTOMERS THEY THINK ARE WORTH SERVING AND TREAT THEM NICELY, AND TREAT OTHER CUSTOMERS POORLY. the entitlement is so odd, all that is required of you is to not be disrespectful, i dont need your kindness, just decency, but they were selective of who they treat well, they were laughing and joking with some customers and then not even look me in the eyes when i try to request something… This needs to be investigated by the manager.
I had the opportunity to experience La Maison Ani in Doha for the first time, and it was truly an amazing experience.
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I tried the grilled shrimp, Caesar salad, steak sandwich, and sea bass — and I genuinely enjoyed every dish.
For dessert, I ordered the tiramisu, which was a perfect ending to the meal.
The restaurant staff were attentive and highly professional, especially Mohammed Alam, Ghazlan, and Precious, who added so much warmth and happiness to my experience.
Thank you to everyone.
We were recommended the spot by a local friend, and they were so right to think we would LOVE it!
We arrived straight from shopping at Galeries Lafayette, and Erika who welcomed us on the door was so kind to find us a table for dinner and made has made us feel like we were at the right spot instantly.
Nice crowd, atmosphere, prompt service, beautiful interior and the garden and Abdullah’s service just kept our positive impressions even stronger.
We had salads as entree and bolognese & wagyu meatballs pasta as our mains and we enjoyed every. single. bite.!! So much so that we will be back to Doha next month for a day and have already confirmed that we are going back for dinner!
Thank you Abdullah - we will definitely see you in LMA Dubai as well!
