We had a reservation in the parlor and had a really great time. The bar is quite busy and sort of unpleasant to get in simply from the crowd - even with a reservation you will wait. Once you’re sitting down and enjoying yourself it’s a comfortable, quiet atmosphere upstairs. The cocktails were excellent and we enjoyed everything - we’d get more next time but we didn’t quite have the time!
Came for the live music, Irish coffee and Sunday Prime Rib Roast; was not disappointed. Was seated at the cozy table in the back, place was packed by then and service a bit slow. Also got some bangers & mash and soup. One of the medium roasts came out with too gristle, about 35%, the other 6 orders had a normal amount. The dinner portions are large, several ladies needed doggie bags. The live music was bit too loud, even though we were farthest away couldn't really talk when the band was performing.
We tried to reserve a table on the site and there was no availability. We were only a few blocks away so we stopped to see if we could squeeze in, and they made it happen.
So, cocktails were outstanding! Tried the falling slowly(slowly falling?), not remembering what it is called is compliment enough. The other I couldn't pronounce if you gave me a week of practice, but it was as good as the name is hard.
Food; lobster deviled eggs, we almost came to blows over the last one. We have been married 31 years, pretty sure I would've been throat punched if I had reached for it.
Pumpkin soup was a real treat, and the fish was absolutely perfectly fried. The kinda crisp that lasts until the last bite.

The Dead Rabbit is hands down my favorite bar in NYC. The bartenders are incredible—knowledgeable, friendly, and always professional, even when the place is buzzing. And trust me, it does get busy, so be prepared for a lively crowd.
I usually hang out in the Tap Room, which has the perfect pub energy, but the Parlor upstairs is an absolute must-visit. Definitely make a reservation for the Parlor—it’s worth it.
The Dead Rabbit is all about great Irish pub food, top-tier cocktails, and one of the best pints of Guinness you’ll find anywhere in NYC. A classic for a reason. 🍀🍺
What a wonderful place. We started with the Lobster Deviled Eggs. Then we had the Dingle Pie and the NA TLC and NA Irish Coffee. All were excellent! The pie crust, in particular, was near perfection. Our server Jonah was attentive and charismatic. Overall a wonderful experience!
