Key Information
Little Tokyo Restaurant is a Japanese eatery located in San Dimas, California, known for its diverse menu that extends beyond traditional sushi to include sizzling plates and handcrafted cocktails. It offers a clean, calm atmosphere and is often praised for its attentive service, making it a popular local spot for Japanese cuisine.
Customer feedback generally highlights delicious sushi, appetizers like fried squid and Takoyaki, and generous bento box servings. Many appreciate the friendly and attentive staff, as well as the pleasant dining atmosphere. However, some recent reviews point to inconsistencies in food delivery timing, with appetizers sometimes arriving after main dishes. There are also comments regarding the quality of sashimi, with some finding the slices too thick, and occasional issues with missing ingredients in dishes. A historical note suggests a change in ownership and chef, which some customers perceive as impacting the food quality.

Food was good. Most of it came out fresh and warm except our bento box came out cold. Wish we hadn't gotten it and it came out last... The rolls were tasty but fell apart.
Service was super lacking and there were a ton of people working... It was really hard to flag down our server and most of the time I asked for help from a busser who was nearby more than my server. When I did need someone I had to holler to get him to come over. Really frustrating to have an 80 dollar bill and not be serviced.
We came here twice, the food was perfect but it was not worthy the second time. For the Spicy Seafood Ramen, it’s totally the same flavor as Shin instant noodles. I paid 17 dollars before tax for instant noodles? It’s hard to admit the fact.
Gotta shout out Eugene and Nathan. They both have amazing customer service skills. Both have great personalities and know how to deliver stellar service with a smile. My man who is a chef from Le Cordon Bleu and myself and my kids, a family of foodies, discovered this spot which is within walking distance to where we live. What a diamond in the ruff. A kid friendly sushi restaurant is such a smart idea. They have little toy machines in the front when you walk in to occupy your time with the kids when there is a wait. Also using toast tablets which are the most efficient POS from my own personal experience. We have had two visits and both times were served up with consistently good quality, and delicious cuts of Otoro, octopus, carpaccio, and rolls. I just want to add because I was reading a review from some guy on here. Traditionally in Japan, your sashimi or rolls are served as soon as they are prepared as to ensure the freshest most delicious experience. If you want to go to your local red robin, you can expect your food to come out all at the same time but take the time to understand these things before you complain about them.
My husband ordered a ZenRoll and a rainbow roll. I ordered a bento box with teriyaki chicken and a California roll it also came with misu soup and a side of rice and a salad. The miso soup came out first then we got our meals together. The food was excellent and it was the largest serving of a bento box of ever received and we love this place by our house with bento boxes but this was way better and very reasonable. Our server was very attentive and he recommended the Zen roll to my husband absolutely loved it.
The food is great, appetizers are good, drinks are good! Geisha roll is one of my favorites and they absolutely delivered. I feel the rolls are smaller compared to different places, but still definitely worth it. Fried squid was nice and crunchy, very delicious. Takoyaki was nice and hot.
Sushi came out pretty quick! The only problem I had was that I finished my sushi before any appetizers came out. Had 3 servers come ask about the meal and I had to tell them that we were waiting for appetizers for a while. After the last one they did come out pretty quick.
About 5 minute wait time to get all of our rolls. 15-20 minutes for everyone to finish their sushi. And another 10-15 minutes for our appetizers at the end. Nothing against the servers or staff, there were a lot of customers that came after my party.
Overall a good experience, would recommend, and would come back!
