Manneken Pis was definitely one of the busiest food spots I visited in Amsterdam, with a constant line of customers. Despite the crowd, the service was fast and the wait was worth it.
The fries were thick-cut, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, exactly how good Belgian-style fries should be. What impressed me most was the huge variety of sauces available. I tried the cheese sauce and the truffle mayonnaise, and both were delicious. The truffle mayo in particular paired perfectly with the fries and added a rich flavor without being overwhelming.
One thing visitors should know is that the portions are much larger than they seem. I ordered a small size and honestly felt it was more than enough for one person. If you’re not very hungry, even the smallest portion can be quite filling.
The location is convenient, right in the heart of Amsterdam, making it an easy stop while exploring the city. If you’re looking for crispy fries with plenty of sauce options, this place is definitely worth trying. No wonder it remains so popular with both tourists and locals.
Really good fries—freshly made and nice and crispy.
Golden on the outside and soft on the inside, just how they should be.
You can taste that they’re made fresh, which makes a big difference.
The friessauce is creamy and pairs really well with the fries.
Great location in central Amsterdam, right by the canal with spots to sit and enjoy.
Even when there’s a queue, it moves pretty fast.
Simple, but done right.
Would definitely get these again
The fries were outstanding.
Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, they were so good that we came back day after day just to have them again. The portions are very generous!! even the small size was more than enough for two people.
The line moves quickly, and the staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely focused on giving you a great experience. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
almost inevitably pass if you’re walking through central Amsterdam, and the constant queue outside definitely builds expectations.
The fries themselves are solid—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and clearly made fresh. They’re good, no doubt about it, but not quite at the level the hype might suggest. After trying them, it feels like you’re paying more for the location and reputation than for something truly exceptional.
Portion sizes are decent, and there’s a wide selection of sauces, which adds some variety. However, the pricing is on the higher side for what you actually get. For a quick street food snack, it ends up feeling a bit overpriced, especially considering you can find similar or even better fries elsewhere in the city for less.
Service is fast and efficient given how busy it gets, but don’t expect anything beyond that—it’s very much a grab-and-go experience. The area around the stand is usually crowded, so it’s not the most आराम (comfortable) place to enjoy your food either.
Overall, Manneken Pis Damrak delivers good fries, but the value for money isn’t quite there. Worth trying once if you’re curious, but probably not something you’d go out of your way to revisit.
The fries here are great! Just be warned! Portion sizes are HUGE! Order less than you think. A medium was the size of my head. The sauce is also a lot, but the fries themselves are so good. I definitely recommend
