Customer perception is mixed but generally leans towards a high-end experience with some service inconsistencies. Many praise the exceptional food quality, particularly the black cod and sushi, as well as the beautiful atmosphere and breathtaking views. However, several reviews highlight significant issues with service, including slow delivery of courses, inattentive staff, and poor table assignments, which some found unacceptable given the premium prices. While some describe it as an 'outstanding experience,' others felt 'extremely disappointed' by the service despite good food.

I can recommend it, but not necessarily for the food. The food is good, but that's about it and definitely not worth the prices. Great cocktails.
The atmosphere, especially outside is great.
The wait staff was terrific, however the lady i spoke to from reservations was rather rude and abrupt. No go for this type of establishment.
Outstanding experience at Matsuhisa Athens. Exceptional food quality, beautifully balanced flavors, and impeccable service. The atmosphere combines sophistication with a relaxed seaside vibe perfectly. The black cod and sushi selection were truly memorable. Easily one of the best dining experiences in Athens.
The last night of a two week vacation started out great. 4 of us ordered the tasting menu. The first 5 courses arrived in 1 hr and 15 minutes and were excellent. The next course arrived 30 minutes later and then the soup course arrived 30 minutes after that. We gave up on the desert course and asked for our check. We felt totally ignored for the last hour of our meal. We left a nice tip for our server concluding it probably was not his fault. I expected a lot more for a meal that cost 1,500 Euros. We ordered two 130 Euro bottles of wine which drove up the price.
I have dined at several Nobu restaurants and have always had a great experience. This visit was very poor and will probably my last Nobu visit. I hate that this is the concluding memory of a great vacation.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Matsuhisa Athens.
While the food was good, the overall service was far below what I would expect from a restaurant where I spent over €400. When paying that amount, I expect an exceptional experience, not just a meal.
We were seated at a table where I was literally facing a wall and the serving station, which completely ruined the atmosphere. I politely requested a table change multiple times, but no one seemed interested in helping. At one point, I specifically asked for a table that had just become available and was told it was reserved for groups of more than five people. However, shortly afterward, we watched a party of only two people being seated there.
What was most disappointing was the lack of care and professionalism from the staff. Rather than trying to improve our experience, they appeared dismissive and uninterested. If customer service is not a priority, management should invest in hiring and training staff who understand hospitality and are willing to put guests' experience first.
For a restaurant with such a reputation and price point, the service was simply unacceptable.
Matsuhisa Athens is a truly special dining destination, offering an unforgettable combination of world-class cuisine and one of the most spectacular settings on the Athens Riviera. Located at the Four Seasons Astir Palace, the restaurant boasts breathtaking sunset views that alone make the experience memorable.
The food delivers exactly what fans of Nobu Matsuhisa’s cuisine expect — refined, consistent, and beautifully executed. Signature dishes like the Black Cod Miso, Yellowtail Jalapeño, and Lobster Tempura are standout favorites for a reason, each perfectly balanced and full of flavor.
The atmosphere is polished yet vibrant, with a sophisticated indoor-outdoor layout that feels lively and elegant at the same time. The energy in the restaurant adds to the experience, making it an excellent choice for a special evening, a celebration, or a memorable night out.
While it is undeniably a premium dining experience, Matsuhisa Athens offers exceptional quality, iconic dishes, and a stunning location that together create something truly unique. A must-visit spot on the Athens Riviera for lovers of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine and unforgettable sunsets.
