Very cute, nice vibe, love acoustic music on a Saturday night, a slow night. The blueberry shandy tasted like a muffin in the best way. Not bad wine selection, including a dry orange wine I quite liked. Steak frites well cooked and seasoned, fries perfectly thin and crispy. The crispy skin salmon was likely the best cooked salmon I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Skin well crisped, texture buttery and well seasoned on top of a fantastic poblano purée, with barley and gorgeous roasted beets. These AmEx collection hotels consistently have such great food. Highly recommend.
I loved visiting Patchwork for a little date night! We were invited by them and a PR company (just for transparency!) but my review here is total honesty. We started off with apps. The arancini was just okay, I anticipated a bit more flavor but they were filling. Would skip those and head straight to the shrimp cocktail (refreshing!) and their onion dip. The onion dip is otherworldly! We would have eaten the bowl haha. There’s a perfect crunch of onions and the lattice chips are a great accompaniment. For entrees we did the steak frites, cooked medium, it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.. and the patchwork burger! A burger’s a burger but they definitely made it well. Lastly, we finished with desserts. I chose a basque cheesecake but for my partner, our server recommended the new spring dessert, a phyllo pastry with pineapple custard inside?! 10/10 needs to stay on the menu. After having a heavy meal, it’s so easy to finish and it really sparks your tastebuds with the tropical flavors. Very lightweight and it was really what sealed the deal. As far as ambience, it’s in the Hyatt centric, so it seemed to be used as a place of work but toward the end of the night, more families and couples came in to sit and drink/eat. Lighting is nice, music is pretty radio friendly and overall, we had a really good time. It seemed as though the service was round as well, like we weren’t treated any differently for creating content. So if you go, expect a pretty good time and GET THE TROPICAL DESSERT!
The restaurant was very eccentric and the atmosphere was great! The service was efficient. Let’s start with brunch the crab cakes were fresh, but lacked in flavor. The patchwork omelette was pretty decent; The vinaigrette on the arugula was a little too acidic for my liking. The waffles were very delicious and by far my favorite. For dinner I tried the wings, they were flavorful w/ a little spice. The patchwork burger and fries were fresh and were seasoned to perfection.
Been here several times because of the hotel. The only thing consistent about this place is the poor service. The space is nice. The food is below average. This place has a lot of potential but it is not there yet If this was a standalone restaurant, it would never survive.
Patchwork is located on the second floor of the Hyatt Centric in the City Center area of Philadelphia. We picked up some snacks there when we first checked in and then had breakfast there the next morning. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was excellent, the food was good but not memorable. The weekend brunch buffet could use some improvements to its offering as it was pretty light on options. With all that being said, it is nice to have a neat little restaurant located in this hotel to stop by for food and drinks if you're staying at the Hyatt Centric.
